Re: When did dark roots become a desired look?

It seems the dark root thing came in with "goth"; at least it did here.  It was a l o n g time ago.

Re: When did dark roots become a desired look?

A few years ago I colored my hair blonde & platinum a few times each and I would get momre compliments on it when my chestnut roots would grow out a little bit! At first I was self conscioius about it but then I grew to love it!

I always like to think it is the confidence you have in your hair style and how you rock it rather than how a trend is telling you to do it! Smiley Happy

I think dark roots with blonde hair became a thing when Madonna made it popular back in her early singing days. It sort of became mainstream then.

Currently, I'm participating in the "dark roots trend."

I've been lightening my brown hair for 25+ years to camouflage gray, and recently decided to stop.
