I was in Walgreens last Saturday and I came across Jean Nate' bath splash......I remember using it back in the 70's...........it always felt so cooling after bathing. I ended up buying the bottle..........for me, it's great for everyday use (probably wouldn't use for special event) and it keeps me smelling clean even through my gym workout.

Hi What a great topic ! So many great products too many to list ,but my altime favorites were Farrah Fawcett Shampoo and conditioner ( probably still the best smelling ever) Ultima II the Nakeds ( i think Kevin Aucoin worked on this before he became famous) They were natural shades that had a full spectrum of colors from porcelain to ebony . Lauren perfume in the long redish bottle , and Clinique had a oilfree makeup called POre MInimizer foundation you had to shake it and apply it with a cotton ball ( no fancy brushes or sponges ) it made your skin flawless . What a wonderful trip down memory lane !

What a great trip down memory lane. Most have been mentioned, but my old favorites were ...
Faberge Wheat Germ Oil and Honey shampoo/conditioner
Just about anything from Avon ... loved playing with the sample sizes when I was young ... especially the lip glosses and deodorants that smelled like their perfumes.
There was a green soap shaped like a dinosaur that turned 'fuzzy' when you got it wet - I think it was a promotional item from Sinclair gas stations.
The Body Shop used to have an 'after sun' spray that smelled like watermelon.
Products a little more recent ...
Tova's original Signature perfume ... I still miss that fragrance
Lori Davis hair care products ... She had an informercial with Cher. I never bought from the infomercial, but started buying when the products showed up in a local drug store. Loved them ... then I guess she went out of business.
The original Principal Secret skin care line.
And I guess I have to add the original Bare Minerals skin care line since they're now discontinued.

Don't know if this counts as back in the day (I'm 35) but when I was 11, I got a bottle of sun-in and made my dark brown hair a crazy shade of orange. I had to grow my hair out for a year, with a definitive line between brown and orange. That was a loooong year.
I don't think there is a particular timeframe for "back in the day" - just back in your younger years, however old you are. My "back in the day" (I am in my early 40's) wouldn't be the same as someone in their 60's or 70's obviously. I have never even heard of most of the items listed on this thread so I am sure they aren't from the same "back in the day" as me!
I did use sun in at one point to make my dark blonde hair even more blonde. It worked but my hair was super dried out! Terrible stuff for your hair~

I remember putting that awful pancake Max Factor makeup on our lips. We looked like ghosts. Also loved Avon cream sachets - in Lilac, Hawaian White Ginger. Used Jean Nate, Emeraude, Ambush, Woodhue by Faberge.
