Does anyone know what the deal is ? I heard the company has been sold for over a billion dollars just like IT Coametics were. I think the owner Jarrod is causing some drama? Anyone know what about?? Just being nosey.

They sold to Estee Lauder back in November of last year I think it was? I have no idea about any drama about anyone (nor do I care to know), including any involving the founder of Too Faced.

I love the "Peach" line. I have the eyeshadow palette, and DD got me the blush and a lipgloss for Christmas. He's supposed to be releasing more of this sometime this summer. So this drama better not interfere with that! Although if the EL folks decide to mess with the peach line, I won't be happy! LOL!

The only drama I have heard of is that Jarrod claimed that Tarte was copying his unicorn idea.

The Drama:
*The owner of Too Faced paid a YouTube beauty guru $50,000 in a collaboration and made $9 million in profit off of it; also took her almost a year to get paid.
* This same palette swatched beautifully when the YouTuber showed the premier palette but the actually quality was horrible. Stephanie Nicole panned it and it's now been reported that Too Faced did a bait and switch with the manufacturing; great product to get the sales but the actual product was junk.
* Owner claimed that Tarte copied his "Unicorn" product with some nasty comments on Instragram. However, when shown that Lime Crime had produced Unicorn products nine YEARS ago, Jarrod removed all his insults but didn't apologize for his actions.
Drama that involves him but also MANY other companies:
*Claiming a product is Limited Edition when the all along the product was to be available as part of the regular line. It's a marketing ploy and VERY profitable for the company but customers are not falling it anymore.
*Using shades from prior palettes or the current line and bringing them out with a new name in a Limited Edition palette and claiming they are brand new/never seen before shades. It's a lie and again, customers see how companies are doing shady things.

Tati won't show Too Faced on her YouTube channel anymore because of the NikkieTutorials collab mess-up and something that happened to her personally with the brand.
Actually the only collabs that I can think of that weren't total flops were the Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlighter with BECCA and the Kathleen Lights Colour Pop lippie stix.

The co creator of TF posted a pic of their "unicorn tears" lipstick and then placed a hashtag that said "unicorns arent made in the Amazon." Another makeup brand owner called him out for casting shade on Tarte and called him out for the collab he did with a big YouTuber and asking the TF owner if he was the first one to make " unicorn makeup" and a lot more. It's a lot of drama. I had to google it though to read about. I think it happened in April, but this is the first I've read or heard about it.

Thanks for the laugh, you guys! Only on the internet could you find an Instagram drama featuring bickering over Unicorn Makeup. Too funny.

I didn't know about the sale of Too Faced to Estée Lauder... I use and am on auto ship for their Hangover face primer and I hope that the formula doesn't change! I went and found the utube videos and so now have an idea what went down. Sounds like Jerrod from Too Faced isnt the most ethical businessman, especially when he's made the kind of money he has already... but there is always what is called karma.
