What does it mean when something is on back order

I ordered the Lamo booths the tsv at midnight. Now it says there on back order. I would think the people who order first should get the product first. Now I have to wait.

It means it isn't in stock in Pennsylvania or wherever they ship out from, but it's due into the warehouse and is on order.

From what I understand, "waitlist" means you have to wait either for a new shipment OR more likely, a return to be sent in, and you get it instead.

Sold out means no more coming unless a buyer later on can negotiate a new shipment and thinks it's going to be worth it.
