I have used beauty blender and brush and use fingers now, seems to work the best!
I havent worn foundation since this pandemic tho.

My foundation looks the best when I apply it with my fingers.
When I use a sponge or a brush (because it makes me feel fancy!) it doesn't look as natural.
QVC did used to sell a Philosophy set of foundation with a brush that was really nice & it applied beautifully with that brush. So, I do occaisonally use that brush, but fingers are fast, I can blend the foundation exactly where I want it & my fingers are easy to wash!

I use either my fingers or a sponge (the one shaped like an egg). When I use my fingers I get more coverage.

When I wore liquid or cream foundation, I always used my fingers.
With minerals or Laura Geller B & B I use a large flat-top brush (IT Cosmetics has a good one).

It depends on the foundation. Whenever I buy a new foundation, I always test it out using my fingers, a damp sponge, a dry sponge and a brush. Then I use whatever method looks better. Some just do better with one application method over another.
Sometimes I start off with with a brush and then finish with a sponge. A damp sponge definitely shears out a foundation a little.

I almost always use a damp beauty sponge.
I use either a sponge or a brush depending on which foundation I'm using

I only use liquid foundations and always with a brush. My favorite is the BK Beauty 101 brush. It is angled, very soft and very dense. Applies foundation quickly and evenly.

It depends on the foundation. If it's thicker, I know I'm probably going to get the best results with a damp sponge. Thinner foundations get absorbed into a sponge, so I use a brush with those and go over it with a sponge if there are streaks. CC cream I can blend out with my fingers and get a good finish without wasting product.
Sometimes a particular foundation doesn't fit those rules, but they apply to most of the foundations I wear (liquid).

I used my fingers for many years. Never liked trying to wash it all off, especially on my nails. I tried a brush from It Cosmetics and never went back. Love the brush.
