Re: What did you use up this week? 1/12

[ Edited ]

Finished an Aveeno SPF 60 daily moisterizer...got the next one delivered yesterday from Amazon & ready to go.

A hair touch up powder/cream from Kristofer Buckle I've used for about 5 years! Had a new one ready to go. I've tried different types, like this best, so far. (so many different types on the market now!) But I think they changed the formula...the cream part doesn't seem to impart as much color now, (I sometimes used to use only that part to cover roots.) The cream is meant to make the powder "stick"...which I know all sounds "gunky" & yucky, but it's not...comes out very natural, and you don't feel sticky with it on, at all.

Tossing a Nest Fragrance roll on I got on a whim maybe 2 winters ago, "midnight fleur", thinking I'd like it for a winter, spicy, fragrance...meh. Wore it only once or twice...it's not me, and not as nice as I thought in the store that day. Too flowery spicy...I like more soft, subtle, musky warm fragrances for winter. It's literally full; wish I knew someone who might like it to give to. Maybe I'll ask a friend, and if not, toss it.

Used up a little travel sized Kiehl's hand cream. Have another from a little airline travel kit.

Finished up a Cetaphil pump moisterizer. Have another ready to go, though I'm rethinking it now. Have used this for almost 2 decades...but was listening to an influenceer online discussing toiletry products, those with good vs. not good ingredients.  Cetaphil, which both my dermatologist and regular doc both recommended years ago...didn't make the "good list!" Not sure how much I'm worried about it...but I would like to pay attention more to "clean ingredients" if I can. I mean everything seems to have the things he talks about ...the stearates, Pegs, and other things. My head could spin trying to eat right ingredients and now use products on me with the best ingredients...it's all exhausting!

Tossed one of two old Mally concealer setting powders. Kept the one not used. I really never "set" my concealer, nor do I like the effect when I do. It tends to dry it out, kind of separate it, and takes away from the look rather than enhance it. So why did I keep the 2nd one?...I guess I'll try it a few times again before deciding. Though, I currently have no Mally cream concealer left to try it with and my other type, Nars, in the tube, doesn't seem to need a setting powder. I think it works better for the cream type.

Returned to Q, a LG eye/bronzer/blush palette I got over Christmas, for myself...in a nutshell didn't love it. I can do better for less.

I've been decluttering old makeup etc...so the list was long this week! I'll stop here and if I think of anything else, will start a new comment. Smiley Happy Happy weekend, ladies.

Just one thing for me this week...

Purpose Cleanser - used it and finished it while I was waiting for my Vanicream Cleanser to be delivered.

I did go through my bottle of Bioderm Miscellar Water (the pink cap). I use it on a cotton pad in the mornings if I feel any residue from my night time skincare routine.

City Beauty Clear Plumping gloss is near the bottom, so started one of several backups purchased during the last sale.

@JudyL the tube container had product, but not much came out on the doe foot. Perhaps that is by design...either way I did need more than one "pull" of it to feel like there was enough! I really like the Nars tinted primer, works like a charm to even out my red eyelids! I think it is creamier than the UD, feels like silk on my lids. Though my skin is dry, I have oily eyelids so primer is a must for me.

@Jacie  - Thanks for your response.  I have oily lids too so must use a primer.  Even with a primer, I can't use shimmers because they disappear on me.  May try the NARS primer too.

@Icegoddess  - yes I did get the right product.  It now comes in a tube with a doe foot.

@JudyL Thanks for the clarification.  Didn't know they had changed the product packaging.

As far as shimmers go, have you tried Too Faced Glitter Glue?  I don't have oily lids, but it can also go on top of eyeshadow.  I use regular primer, regular eyeshadow, a little Glitter Glue on top of the eyeshadow, and then any shimmer or sparkly eyeshadow on top.  It's smooth coming out of the tube, but dries down a bit tacky.  I pat it on using my ring fingers. It might also work on top of a shimmer to help it stay.

@Icegoddess  - I have NYX glitter glue.  Heard it was really good for shimmers but haven't tried it yet.  Thanks for your suggestion and will keep it in mind if the NYX doesn't work out.

Hi Beauty Beholders!!

I used up a jar of Dr Nassif Ezcema Cream.  Love it.  I will probably order more when I start to run out of all the body creams, oils and lotions I already.  This is a good one.

I also used up a tube of Above the Cloud from Tweek'd.  I do like this and have the second tube that came with this set.  When that runs out, I will order again or if there is a deal.  I will buy.

I think that's it!  Slow week I guess.

Re: What did you use up this week? 1/12

Finished this last night.  Have a backup.  It should last till Sephora's Spring Sale.  I use it in a spray bottle which saves product.

At $62 it's getting a bit spendy Smiley Sad
