Re: What Should I Be Doing Differently?

Thanks everyone. I will try more pumps. I guess I'm trying not to be wasteful since it seems I'm going through it fast. I'm also going to get that 613 product this month before the easy pay expires.

The way I justify the expense of WEN is by only having to cleanse 1-2x per week. I was never able to do that with any other product. Hopefully, when you find your "sweet spot" that works for your hair, you will be able to cleanse less frequently and use less product in the long run.

Re: What Should I Be Doing Differently?

The only thing I can add is that Cucumber Aloe made my hair even greasier and stringy looking :/ Too me it is the worst of them but I know everyone has different types of hair. If I had started with it I would have never given WEN a chance. I have thin, fine, highlighted hair. I have tried all of the core formulas (except fig) and for fine and oily hair you can't beat lavender! I only use 5 pumps for my first cleanse and 5 for my second but if your hair is thicker than mine I would definitely try using more. Pom does do well on my hair but I can get oily in about 36hrs. I usually want to wash my hair the evening of the second day with pom. If increasing the number of pumps doesn't work for you, I would recommend trying different "flavors" Smiley Happy

I don’t know if you are doing this but one of the best tips I got was, after you apply CC you dip your head in the shower stream then scrub. For some reason this help me determine if I was using enough pumps.

BTW I love CA mixed with TT.

Re: What Should I Be Doing Differently?

Okay- I would only use Cucumber Aloe on my scalp. Use 4 pumps on the scalp and then the 8 pumps of a cocktail of Pom and CA on mid-shaft and ends. And then repeat same process. I think at the beginning it is important to use enough CC. I also would try to use TT on the scalp. TT is my HG and I use that on my scalp and then cocktail in other formulas. There is a TSV coming up in Dec with five different formulas so it is a good time to try everything and see what actually works. I might hold off on investing in a gallon until you really know what works best.

Cucumber aloe made my hair greasy also. My hair does best with the seasonals and lavender.

Re: What Should I Be Doing Differently?

I would recommend using more pumps. Try using 10-12 pumps for the first cleanse and 10-12 pumps for the second cleanse. My hair is chin length and very thick. I use 8 pumps for the first cleanse and 8 pumps for the second cleanse. You just want to make sure you hair is really coated with the Wen. I always recommend putting 4 pumps on the crown, 4 on the nape, and then however many pumps you need to coat the length of your hair. Do this for both cleanses. I always like to put at least 8 pumps on my scalp per cleanse because the scalp seems to be the oiliest part. Also, always add the extra splash of water for each cleanse to really distribute the Wen through your hair. Rinsing thoroughly is also really important. Hope this helps.

Some of us just have to cleanse everyday.

POM and 613 will make your hair even greasier and flatter. They did for my hair.

Try using shampoo and just having WEN as your second cleanse.

I do that about once a month or so and it makes a difference. The WEN works better and my hair is bouncier.

Re: What Should I Be Doing Differently?

i felt the same way when i started using wen. Something that made a difference for me was using the comb. sounds silly but i think it really helps.
