I use a few different things and also believe in employing both physical and chemical exfoliation regularly. In the AM, most mornings I first cleanse with a gentle cleanser and my Foreo Luna Mini. Before I rinse, I'll mix some Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant and water in my hand and massage that around by hand. Some days I'll do the cleansing part but then use Skinn DermAppeal, Serious Skin Care Glycolic Gommage, or Serious Skin Care Glycolic Peel. At night, after oil cleansing with my Foreo Mini, I'll use either Mad Hippie Exfoliating Serum (10% AHA) or Skinn Translucent Resurfacing Concentrate most of the time, but a couple of nights a week I'll use prescription Retin-A. Once a week (either Saturday or Sunday) I'll do a Skinn Collagenesis DWP ABC Peel (love that stuff).

Hey, Jean! I've been meaning to ask -- do you like the Eminence better than the Fleur des Lis? Would you mind telling me what differences or similarities there are? I have dry (more dry in winter, it leans more normal in summer), sensitive skin. Thanks!!

I have to admit that yes I do like the Eminence more thant the Fleur de Lis. A few years ago, I was seeing an aesthetician who used all Eminince products in her spa. When I began using an exfoliating powder and landed on the Fleur de Lis, I had totally spaced out on the Eminence so I'm glad I found it again. I know some people found the scent of the FDL to be offensive. I do agree that some were, namely the unscented and the chamomille. I was able to use the lavender and the vanilla. Of all of them, the vanilla smelled the best. There is nothing offensive about the Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant, it's nice. The FDL is a little more powdery, a finer grain. The Eminence is still made with rice, but there are other things added which I believe add some benefit. Even though it's a little larger grain, it's still gentle. You can control how thick/thin you want it based on how much water you add. If you want to, you can add it directly to your cleanser. I don't because I use the Foreo and the directions warn against using anything grainy or clay based with it because it could affect the silicone.

Here's the ingredient list for the Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant:
Rice Starch, Chick Pea Flour, Thermal Mud, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Oat Starch, Colloidal Oatmeal, Powdered Herbal Oatstraw Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Salicylic Acid (soy derived), Papain, Black Walnut Extract, Alfalfa Leaf Extract, Horsetail Extract, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Green Tea Extract, Dehydrated Strawberry Extract, Strawberry Fruit Seed, Rhubarb Root Extract, White Willow Bark Extract, Grape Leaf Oil, Silica, Lactic Acid, Licorice Root Extract, Moroccan Lava Clay, Potato Starch, BiocomplexTM (Vitamin A, Vitamin C Ester, Vitamin E, Coenzyme Q10, Alpha Lipoic Acid), Burdock Root, Ginkgo Extract.

Re: What Kind of Exfoliating Product Do You Use?

Awesome, thank you!! One more question - one thing I love about the FDL is that it keeps its texture and doesn't "dissolve" (like Tatcha!) quickly, so I get a good, gentle "scrub" from it. Is the Eminence the same? That was the thing about Tatcha that bothered me. I felt like I started to scrub, and after about 1/3 of my face was done, it was just foam. Hope that makes sense!!

Yes, the scrubby pieces remain until I'm ready to rinse.

I just use a two sided wash cloth, microfiber on one side and muslin on the other. The muslin really does a good job for me.

Hello jaxs mom,

I used to use ONLY exfoliators for sensitive skin, now I use nothing more than a plain cotton washcloth. I have heard of some posters who do use the microfiber cloth or the Salux cloth (Japan).........
I have not heard or seen a two sided -with muslin on one side, unless I would make it myself. I slowly but surely had gotten away from the (sample)micro beads in Phil. and also the sample of "Exfolikate";both, the samples were from the beauty bag from over two years ago.

Interesting information, though. Since the muslin sided cloth did a {good] exfoliate, wondering if this particular product two sided cloth is sold from a particular source?

I could buy some muslin cloth and give it a try. {Just curious}. My facial skin can be easily irritated, now, using any of the peels or rough grains that everyone seem to be promoting. There is one company's skin line that I do use but it is ordered from another country. Checking to research if 'that company' even suggests any type of properties [THEY] use in skincare. As always: I have said, " I am extremely very kind to my skin and will not try 95% of anything new"- (for me).

Thank you in advance.

I'm using the Josie Maran cloth, QVC sold them in a two pack a year or two ago but now I only see it sold with her argan cleansing treatment. I've been thinking about just buying some muslin at the fabric store and making my own so I have more. I'd like to have enough so I could use a new one every day. My skin is really sensitive so I'm just happy I found something that works without irritation.

alba Botanica Hawaiian facial exfoliator - why did I purchase? It's for sensitive skin and it gets the job done without harming your skin and the price is right under $10. I exfoliate once a week as my skin can dry out if I exfoliate too much so once a week works for me.

Somme Institute A Bomb every day. It is a moisturizer so it is not a mechanical exfoliator or "peel."

Skinn Dermapeal. 2 to 3 times a week. My all-time favorite, but a polarizing product, it seems. Some love, some hate.

I use Skinn's ABC peel once a week or every other week; Demapeel x2-3 times a week and alternate with Suzanne Somers peach exfoliating cleanser and charcoal mask and scrub. I space it out so as to not exfoliate too much. My skin looks great and I am 67
