@goldensrbest

I think you were just "reminiscing" about days gone by!

When I was a little girl we had beautiful department stores "downtown".  We lived out in the country and Thursday nights was our treat -- we went to dinner and then "downtown".

I always remember my mother (and aunts) first stop was the Estée Lauder counter.  To this day, in my mind I still can smell her scent "Youth Dew" -- her room always smelled like it.

That is one thing I miss going to the make-up counter in Macy's for those "free" make-up sessions which ended up costing me $$$ cuz I love make-up.  I'm allergic now to most perfumes but remember no matter when you'd have someone from the cosmetic counter in the center aisle offering you a "sample" of the latest perfume.  Our closest Macy's (or mall for that matter) closed 5 years ago and now it's a hour drive to the closest.  I no longer go often even before Covid.

Of course, every post becomes COVID related in some way🙄 but you're right those were the "good old days" of cosmetic counters🙂🙂
