Had a spiral at the salon. Now my hair is super dry and sticks out everywhere - just awful!
Usually just have a cut and color. so I didn't realize she either did not know how to do a perm or was just having a really bad day. However, I was taken aback when disussing I wanted the spiral perm she asked me if I wanted bangs(?). After I said no, she asked if I wanted a color too(?). Again I said no just the spiral perm.
Not sure if she used papers with the curlers as my back was to the mirror. After she completed the rollers, she told me to go sit under the dryer! I just said, 'huh', and a lady under a nearby dryer looked shocked! That's when my hairdresser said wait, she had to put the solution on and would be right back. When she was putting the solution on, nothing dripped - ya know how they usually give you a towel just in case. I said it doesn't stink. She said she had to go get the other one which would smell. It didn't, but I have allergies so figured that was why.
After all this when she was taking the curlers out at the sink, she got water all over me and the floor! Wore a sweatshirt and the back was soaked. I did not have her blow dry it - always let spirals self-dry. Then I gave her a really good tip. She was quite pleased. She gathered her 3yr-old son and dog and they were heading out the door before I paid the receptionist.
Bumped inter her at the grocery store. She saw my horrible hair sticking out all over - worse than usual 'cause if was very windy that day. But, you could tell that it in no way resembled a spiral - more like Colin Kopernak's hair!
Want to just move on but this is a small town and they're friends and we have mutual friends. In other words, it's awkward!
Can't control this hair. If I pic it it looks like a dried out mess. If I blow dry it, same result. Hate to go anywhere. Even the guy who plows asked me what happened! And, he goes to the same salon. So, does anyone know what I can put into this mop to repair it. Don't know what she put in it but my hair is extremely dry now. Help!

From what I have read,
deep condition your hair for at least 3O minutes with a towel wrapped around to keep the heat and moisture in.
Does anyone else work at the salon who could help you with your hair?

Her mother owns the salon, so don't think that would work. But thanx, @butterfly123 .

I always gets great haircuts at SuperCuts nr my house. I have short wavy hair and the last time it was cut - was 6 months ago. My regular hairdresser took off for a few months, so I asked for Jazmin as she rec'd good reviews on Yelp. My hair was white and it was hard to tell how it looked when she finished the cut - as I put blonde color in when I got home.
After coloring my hair --- it was the WORST haircut of my life. She cut the top short - with a lot of hair running down the center of my head onto my forehead (like a mohawk). When I felt the back of my hair, it was pointy and thick. Even my roomie couldn't believe the cut. To top it off, I gave her a $10 tip + another $10 for Christmas.
Three days later, I called her up and told her my hair looks terrible. I went over there - and she blamed the terrible cut on the fact that I hadn't had a haircut for 6 months (my hair was still on the shorter sidej). She never apologized or accepted blame that it was her fault.
Now, she cut off all my hair - I'm almost bald.
I've been in my house since then --- and am waiting for another month to go by - so there will be some growth.
She told me that my hairdresser will be returning when I need my next cut.YAY!!!!!
I won't be needing another cut for 6 more months.

Sending you some cyber hugs @eddyandme as I can sense your frustration and know what it's like to be disappointed at the salon ❤️
I agree that some conditioning treatments could help. Do your neighboring cities have good salons? Sometimes I make appointments out of town because I think those stylists are better. It cost more and is time consuming, but to me it's worth it.
Sounds like your stylist was clueless. I'd be tempted to share my concerns and experiences with the owner. If you want to continue going there, maybe make an appointment asking for them to show you tips on how to style this new perm that you received from their salon?

@kivah, I feel your pain!
It's true, they never admit, nor offer to correct their failures. It's just awful!

I think you need to condition your hair. I use living proof products a lot, and I think they have something for very dry hair.
I'm so sorry, the last perm I got was a disaster. She left the solution on too long, I am done with perms.
I wonder if your hair needs thinned out any, if that would help? Or if the ends are the dryest, just to have them snipped by a new stylist? I wouldn't go back to this person.
I have been using living proof products, well some of them, and I think they have something for super dry hair. I would look into that as well.
Good Luck. I know how bad this stinks.

Thanx, @wildcat fan .
Yes, we do have great salons in the city and also a very expensive salon in town.
I think I may go back as a walk-in just to have a treatment for my dried out hair. Then at least others there will see it and perhaps the owner, her mother, may offer to take care of it. Because of mutual friends it's hard to just stop going there, ya know.

When a previous stylist I had messed up my hair, I used a product with argan oil in it. The argan oil helped rescue my hair.

I'm sorry, @kivah. I can relate to a crappy hair cut too. I bet most of us can. I would get some vitamins and take them religiously and see if they help it to grow. Also, I have heard that our hair grows faster if we don't wash it daily. I don't know because mine gets oily, so I usually do wash it daily.
Good luck to you. Give it a few months, and I bet it will look a lot better. So sorry this has happened to you.
Mine is just getting over a crappy cut that was 3 years ago. I kid you not. I finally just just quit getting it cut, then I asked a friend whose hair looked good where she went and started going there. It has taken a very long time. People who ruin our hair should be held accountable. JUst cause someone can manage to get a license doesn't mean they know what they are doing unfortunately. Haircutting, driving, or being a dr.
