I use a sponge for my liquid foundation and IT Cosmetics Heavenly Lux airbrush foundation brush for my powder foundation.  

I use the IT Cosmetics Heavenly Lux powder brush for my bronzer but I don't apply bronzer to my cheeks like blush and I don't contour with it.  I run it lightly over my forehead, nose and tops of my cheeks.

Hi!  I love IT brushes, too.  So pricey though!!  I have a few and really like them.  I tend to agree with you on the cheaper ones, not being as nice.  With one exception-- the ELF brand.  I have quite a few of those, too. They seem to work fine.  

It's amazing how many brushes I actually have.... lol

Do you think they are soft enough for skin?  I guess so if you reccommend.  lol

I guess I'm the world's worst when it comes to eyeshadow!  I use the sponge applicators!  I am a night owl, and have to push myself to get out of the door!  

If I had to build up by patting a brush over and over on the same area, I'd never get there!!!
