Love hearing about everyone's canine (and feline) children.
We have three "babies". A male fawn colored Pekingese (he's "special", he's not the brightest crayon in the box, but he's my heart), an aging female a Golden Retriever, and a female Black and Tan miniature dachshund.
Our golden is an outside dog, she showed up at our house one winter, starving, so skinny that I could feel her ribs. I tried to bring her inside cause I thought she was cold. She wanted nothing to do with that........she sleeps under one of the porches and ignores us. All she cares about is being fed........she's now fat and happy :-) If she wants attention, she'll let us know. Other than that, she wants to be left alone to chase the chickens, that's what makes her happy, lol.
My nickname came from our little dachshund, we rescued her several years after we'd had our Pekingese. She was rescued from a puppy mill, it took a long time, but she's fully recovered. She now rules the house........she's the boss.

I also have a bichon named Emma ;-) she's 10. They really are my best friends. We've been throug so much together
Your fur babies must be adorable, I wanted a bichon before but I'm intimidated by the grooming. I hope your little chi boy is feeling better soon. I really love the black and tan markings on chihuahuas.

LOL Doxie mom I had to LOL literally when I read your comment about your Peke not being the brightest crayon in the box. I have a pug like that. He's going to be 12 this year.

She has a good personality but very human like she can get moody, like every other bichon I've met. They have more emotional depth than most dogs. Which can sometimes mean I have a fluffy moody teenage girl on my hand lolOn 6/28/2014 bichon_emma said: Jaxs mom your chihuahua is so cute. Awwww, I love pugs, too. Those bug eyes and squashed in faces are too cute! Our doxie outsmarts our Peke all of the time. She's a little pig when it comes to food, she'll finish eating first, and run to the front door, barking. The Peke will follow her, thinking that someone's at the door, then the doxie will run back and try to eat his food really quickly. He'll just stand at the front of the house, going from window to window, trying to figure out what she "saw" outside.......all while she's trying to wolf his food down. This happens at least twice a year. He still hasn't figured it out :-)

I just adopted a 1 year old cat, Winston. He's been with us since Tuesday. My friend found him in April, he showed up on her porch starving and dehydrated. They already have 3 cats and 2 kids and couldn't keep him so he has been staying in their garage getting healthy again.
Pics below. Winston in a box on his first day in his new home
