@MalteseMomma  I think if you've been using something for a LONG time (and you have) and have had NO issues.... I wouldn't stop using it. Just like some people can't take penicillin or are allergic to shellfish or nuts, doesn't mean everyone is or that they should STOP using/consuming the product.

If you want to stop due to price? Just buy something you like that fits the category of the WEN you are using (treatment/dry/oily/etc).

I can't use WEN but there are many who love it and swear by it. Should they stop because I can't use it? Not in any way. : )

@SahmIam

@It would help reading if you could separate your comments from the OP's, so it's easier to see who is talking You can do this by typing in their name by @ XXX first, and then typing in your comment. For some reason they are showing up together.  Smiley Happy

@Drythe That's exactly what I did. I replied to the OP, no one else. (just as I'm repsonding just you).  I think she's intelligent enough to read what I wrote without issue. Thanks so much! : )

Edited to add: I DIDN'T inclued a quote from the OP in my response, Drythe. I'm not sure what you're seeing on your screen but, there it is.

Nothing that worked as well as WEN for my hair, or even came close, nothing. I've tried everything from drugstore to $60 shampoos. Nothing can replace it and if for some reason it went away seriously would go into mourning over it. I would get it from the black market if I had to do it lol.

I guess I am not coming across correctly. But if one really is afraid (not myself) of hair loss and believe WEN  causes hair loss ,but you are loving it  and having great results ,but  are worried that your hair just may fall out ,it must be hard to change to another brand because there is nothing that comes near to WEN ,imo.

I hope i explained my thought correctly.....lol......I know stupid post.....lol  just a thought ..

Jmo but I think it's sad the media coverage has caused so much worry.

Such a small % of customers report hair loss that imo the FDA will find are allergies or misuse of product or other issues unrelated to WEN. My answer (might not be helpful I know) is try not to worry and try to enjoy the good results you and so many others have experienced.

Sahmlam: I used WEN and loved it untill after about six months my hair started falling out.  I had bald patches all over my head. No new meds or anything, just allergic to something in it. My hair started to grow back when I went back to my old brand. Beware the itching, it "could" be a sign you are intolerent. Others have used it for years no problem. It's like anything else, some people can use it with great results and others can't. There should be no blame on anyone.

Not  that I am considering giving up WEN after 13 yrs of using it almost daily with good results.

But I was just wondering how does one go about giving it up if they have been sucessfully using it for years but feel that there may be some truth in the hair loss stories ?

@MalteseMomma

As a long time WENNER, I think the TRUTH is that SOME people have reactions to certain ingredients that don't bother OTHERS.

Knowing that I have only positive results with WEN, I wouldn't consider giving it up.

Recently I learned that I had an awful reaction to a quinolone drug.  Dropped them like a hot rock!  No reason for others to do so.
