Hi All,
I am sorry if this has been addressed before; I currently have let my hair go completely gray and I am not sure if I really like it that way, but I do like the idea of not coloring my hair. Being a new wenner, (since March of last year) I was wondering if it is true that at least for a couple of times you color your hair that all you have to do is the roots.
All of you have been so wonderful answering questions and giving advice.
Thank you in advance.

I only touch up my roots. I don't ever run color through my ends.
If I was changing colors significantly then obviously whole head is the way to go the first time only and then just color the root regrowth not the ends.

The first response is not correct. If you are using a quality color or having it professionally done, once you color your hair you should only touch up the roots. That is unless you change colors. Color hasn't been run through my hair in over a year, only the roots. (was 3 years before I changed brands). At 44 yrs old my hair is completely gray, so I color it back to my original blonde. Wen really helps to keep the color from damaging your hair too much. I have used WEN now 18 mos.

Thank you for your comments. I went to a new stylist and she could not get over how great my hair was. Thanks to wen!. I keep going back and forth about coloring. The stylist today said if she was me she would not color my hair. So I guess I am still on then fence.

This may be true for you but not for me. My colorist runs color through my hair every 5 weeks, not just the roots. But my hair is auburn and red does fade quite a bit. I have found that it is not possible to get a color match of my roots once my color fades.

Have you ever called Chaz's salon and asked why this is? He is a color specialist. And I learned that not all stylists are. Even though they color, there are special education classes to specialize in color...learned this through my cousin. She is a color specialist and gets very frustrated at her fellow coworkers who just do anything to their clients. Not saying yours is, I would just try and find out why. It could be something simple like the brand she is using. Good luck, it might save you some time and money!!

I have not, but you do make a point. Although I have a professional color my hair, who knows what brand of color she uses? She is also a redhead and prides herself on knowing how to color red hair, but there could be someone better out there (and more expensive). Unfortunately, I don't know what Chaz's salon can really tell me -- unless they can recommend someone else in this area to me (but worth asking).
