I have watched Wen for years and never bought the products because of the negative reviews I heard about it making your hair greasy and leaving heavy residue on your scalp and hair. Well, my hair is naturally curly and I've hated it all my life. Its not really consistant, some parts curly others like cotton candy balls.

So, I decided to buy a bottle of Fig thinking maybe my hair could use some greasiness. When I opened the bottle tonight I was shocked that the consistency was like a thick body lotion! I'll try anything once so I used it. I even left a few pumps on for conditioner.

I need to hear from those of you who also had doubts but were wrong.

thanks Everybody!

Wen has a learning curve. Unlike shampoos Wen does not have detergents to clean your hair but various oils, and other things I can’t remember. That’s why you need to use so much. I highly suggest you use the recommended amount then readjust as needed. It also helps if after you apply, to dip your hair in the shower stream, this makes it feel frothier.

Good luck.

I would suggest you go to chazdean.com and watch his videos. That'll give you an idea of how to make sure you're using the product correctly. I had major doubts when I first used it because it doesnt lather but it honestly is the best thing I've ever done for my hair. I never have to shampoo to remove buildup and I am able to go 3 days without washing my hair so the cost is justified. The biggest reason people aren't liking it is because they aren't using it correctly. You have to use quite a bit yes, so that you are able to still scrub your scalp AND massage it through the length of your hair. Once your scalp gets adjusted and stops mass producing oil you will notice you are able to go longer between showers because you are no longer stripping your scalp of your natural oils. Good luck!

I am a bit confused about how best to be helpful to you, newme. What are you hoping to hear from folks?

thanks for replying ladies...I want to hear from a skeptic who was pleasantly surprised that she was wrong and the product is great after all. When I go on the internet for reviews they are mostly negative.

Ok, thanks. I guess that counts me out. I didn't know that WEN would work for me but when I made my first purchase I did so with an optimistic outlook. I wouldn't have spent the money otherwise.

It sounds like you have tried Fig yourself, right? So you have your own experience which is probably the best indicator (as opposed to listening to others -- skeptical or not). How did it work for you?

Hi newme! Welcome to Wen! You found the right place for the fans.

My hair isn't just curly, it's bipolar, so I feel your pain.

I've used Wen for over a year. It took about 5 months to find my staples (Fig and 613) and the right technique for my hair.

I used to be a product junkie, so that was why I tried Wen. It impressed me, but didn't WOW me. Guthy Renker (Wen.com) sent me a sample of Fig to try, and it was love at first pump.

Wen has worked wonders for me.

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

I am a newbie since September. I hoped it would work half as well on me as on the WEN models. I, like you, wasn't sure a 'conditioner' could clean my hair. I ordered Tea Tree and Fig. I had a few days to myself so did not wash my hair. I was at the end of my tolerance with my oily hair and had really just given up on waiting for the delivery truck, shampoo bottle in hand, when WEN arrived on my doorstep. Wanting to give it the best chance to prove itself I used the TT on my slick greasy hair. I followed the directions to the letter, using the recommended amount of pumps plus a couple to be fair (it was a big job), The splash of water appeared to be Very important to the cleansing process. Combing it through distributed the cleanser better than finger massaging alone. Rinsed it Thoroughly. The results were impressive! Very Clean, Very Very shiny hair! My hair is thick, about a 50/50 mix of brown and coarse grey with ALL the gray on top like a veil. Since using WEN my brown has gotten back it's original wave and the gray is dazzling and will even hold a bit of curl. I wish now that I hadn't cut off that last 4 inches of straw like hair before I decided to try WEN! I hope it works as well for you!

I have watched Chaz on tv for years and always loved his presentations for Wen but I didn't know anyone who used it(plus I thought it was all hype!!). Til 2yrs ago my friend was a Wen lavender lover and lent me a bottle to try and omg my hair was horribly dried out lol

At that point I figured Wen was not for me and my natural 3b curls lol then this year my other friend hooked me up with some Wen goodies she was not using then I got some Summer Honey Peach CC and was IN LOVE!!!! My naturally curly hair was transformed and no more frizz! I have been using Wen since Sept of this year and haven't looked back<3

I also found the Wen lavender to be very drying. I had to mix it with other formulas in order to use it. Using it alone made my hair very dry. I love the SHP and it is my favorite Wen formula that I have ever used. I do have/use quite a few of the core and seasonal formulas but don't like any of the formulas as much as SHP. I really wish it would be made into a core formula that you could order on a regular basis.
