Hi Fresh Cream Friends ![]()
I received my three piece set that includes the spray fragrance, shower gel 16 oz, and body lotion in the tube. I LOVE the fragrance.......you girls were right!! It is sweet and light and perfect!!
Ok the weird part.......the shower gel and the lotion smell completely different than the ones I have from the recent TSV. The small shower gel is wonderful! Lightly scented and a great smell of sweet and vanilla. My super uber sized TSV gel smells not so pleasant compared to this one. The TSV one smells like there is a "green" note to it. I mix it with one of my shower gels with the olive oil scrub anyway so it is not too much of a big deal, but I thought it was odd that they smell so much differently.
Then the tube lotion........I didn't like at all
I tried it several days in a row and the smell was not great at all. I kept having to wash it off it was so bad. It was also yellow and my TSV lotion is white. And yet I am totally addicted to the uber sized one from the TSV. Ok, so don't judge me, lol, but I ended up dumping out the tube lotion and washing out the container and filling it with my TSV lotion.
So have you guys experienced such crazy differences in the scents? I want to be able to order this scent without worrying that some smell great and others smell yucky. Shouldn't they smell the same? Or am I just being to picky?
Sorry for all the questions, but I am a new Fresh Cream addict and I don't have much experience with this scent. I was thinking of ordering 2 of the TSVs in December (the auto-delivery) because I love the lotion and spritz so much but now I am worried about the smell of the shower gel, and for that matter what if the lotion scent if different?
Thanks for listening
~Jen

I didn't buy the most recent TSV, but I just wanted to mention that recent tubes of FC lotion I've purchased have been yellow in color just as you've mentioned. I don't think the yellow color is a "bad" thing, yet I don't know why the TSV FC lotion is white in color. I do know from reading some of the posts here that some people have mentioned their FC items were lacking in scent or smelled different from previous FC items they've purchased. I don't know if there were "bad batches" or what. I also remember reading here that someone else had mentioned their Fresh Cream TSV had a "green" note, too. Sorry I don't have any answers, but just wanted to mention that I don't think you are alone. On the flip side, there were also people who mentioned their FC TSV smelled great, and smelled just like other FC items they've purchased in the past. Maybe it really does boil down to some "bad batches?"

Also, I wanted to mention that I think the FC lotion smells different from the FC 3 in 1. The 3 in 1 smells more dairy-like to me, while the lotion smells sweeter and a bit closer to Philosophy's Crispy Marshmallow Bars scent, if you've ever tried that scent. I also sometimes detect a bit of musk in the FC lotion, but not always - I know that sounds weird, but I think it might be due to settlement in the tubes? Not sure. Maybe that's why you didn't like your tube of FC?

Jen, from several comments I have read in other threads here, you are not alone in noticing differences in the scent of various FC products. I have several FC items, all ordered from Philosophy.com, and they do not all smell the same. I have the FC lotion in a tube and FC lotion in an 8oz bottle and they do not smell the same, nor do either smell the same as the FC 3-in-1 bottles that I have. Neither of the lotions that I have are yellow, but I guess I am not surprised at this point.
I didn't buy the TSV because I didn't need any more FC right now. I was hoping for the olive oil scrub instead. Now I am not sure I want to risk buying more and then have to send it back. I would feel a bit better if I could still buy it from Philosophy.com with free shipping and no tax. But Philosophy has removed all FC from their site and claims it can only be bought from QVC now. I think some other retail outlets still have it, but maybe they are closing it out, and then it will be a QVC exclusive?
I may wait for further reviews to see if they can be more consistent with the scent before I buy more.

On 6/26/2014 Tissyanne said: I still have tubes of the original FC body butter. Every time I open one it is snow white and stays that way the whole time I am using it. The 32 ounce lotion I have started out white, but quickly turned yellow. The body butter has a deep richness to it, and I sure hope the souffle they are bringing to QVC will have that same richness. As far as the recent TSV I did not purchase it because I have several FC products.
The FC body butters I had were white, too, but I no longer have any, since the body butters were discontinued. Have any of the tubes of FC body lotion (not body butters) you've had been yellow in color? In the very first tube of FC body lotion I bought, the product itself was white, but with later tubes the product was yellow. I think it was pinksilhouette that posted awhile back that the FC body lotion had slightly changed. She mentioned the ingredient deck of the FC body lotion was slightly different from the FC body lotions that first launched, and that the scent was also a bit more like the scent of the body butters (sweeter and closer to Crispy Marshmallow Bars). I think she was the first person to mention the lotion was now yellow, too, but I might be thinking of someone else.

My lotion turned yellow after several months but it still smells very good.

i read somewhere (maybe on this board?) that products with vanilla can turn in color. my fresh cream spray fragrance that i bough last summer is darker than it was originally but still smells the same. a friend of mine has the super-sized vanilla coconut duo and the lotion has turned a very light brownish tone but it still smells the same. so, maybe the kind of/concentration of vanilla has something to do with it?

On 6/26/2014 i like celery said:The FC body lotions that I had started out white, but turned yellow within a couple of weeks. I never bought more than a few tubes because I had the body butter and preferred them. I called Philosophy CS and asked about this over a year ago. She told me the light in my bathroom probably caused it. Like every one else has indicated she was not very customer service friendly. On 6/26/2014 Tissyanne said: I still have tubes of the original FC body butter. Tissyanne, That is interesting about the light. I don't keep mine out in a light area. I guess it could be a number of things. As long as it smells good I don't mind but I wish it would stay white
