to a new liquid foundation. Have been using a name drugstore brand for years and need more radiance. Of all the brands on QVC, please help me with your recommendations. I'm 65 years young and would be a cool tone medium shade. Thanks for your input! Excited to see what ya'll like!!

I went to the cosmetic counter at the mall and the sales person at the Lancome counter color matched me...gave me a sample to try and it was a great match for my skin. I went back and purchased a bottle. There is also a powder that goes with that foundaion if you want a powder. Drug store foundation is ok but getting the right color is difficult. I am 62 this year and am light-medium, more dry than oily.

When it comes to liquid foundation, I prefer Tarte. I want to try the new foundation from Bravon Beauty (Bravon Pasqua). Bravon was formerly with Bare Minerals. His foundation has gotten great reviews.

I wouldn't recommend anything from QVC because their shade ranges are hard to match and it costs money to return something that doesn't match.
I have another recommendation for you - if you have been happy with your current foundation and like it but want more radiance, keep using your current foundation and mix it with an illuminating primer. I custom mix mine and it works out really well.
If you want a drugstore version, I recommend mixing your foundation with L'Oreal Magic Lumi primer. A half-pump usually does me well. I love this stuff for mixing into my foundation, but you can also use it as a primer under or add some over your foundation.
If you want to try a higher end brand, Burberry's Fresh Glow Luminous Base is also fantastic. I use Nude Radiance and I am very fair with neutral undertones. Nude Radiance is a little warmer than the L'Oreal Magic Lumi, but it's not too warm for cool undertones.
MAC Strobe is fantastic for this, as well. It has a pink flash and works well with cool undertones.
Another is Becca Backlight Priming Filter. That one is also a little warmer, but still works well on cooler tones.
And for days you want a little radiance but don't want full foundation, you can mix these products into your moisturizer or make your own tinted moisturizer by mixing moisturizer, some of the luminous primer, and some if your foundation together.
If you add an illuminating primer to your foundation, you get the best of both worlds. You get to keep using a product you know well and already like, and just kick it up when you want to and how much you want to.

I agree with the others--your best bet for a foundation is to make an appointment at a counter for a brand you've always wanted to try and have heard good things about (lancome, bobbi brown, etc). they will match you and let you try out a few things. Most will give you the free consultation as long as you buy 1-2 products.
another option is to do the same at sephora. they have that colorIQ machine that matches your skintone exactly with some foundation shades. You can buy your favorite that day and if it doesn't work out or you want something new next year, you still have your color match number to buy something else.

If you like your drugstore brand foundation and just want more radiance. Maybe you can still use the same foundation and just put on a powder foundation such as Laura Geller's balance and brighten on top of it. It will brighten up the look. If you want more radiance, you can try put highlighter on top of that.

I have to second the Lancome recommendation. I'm fair but cool toned and I use the Renergie line of theirs and it is a perfect match for me. I haven't had much luck with lines from the Q. I have the IT CC cream and it's okay but not a great match. I haven't found a great match with Tarte either. Doll 10 wasn't bad. That's probably my favorite of what I've tried from the Q.

Have you considered Merle Norman? I was matched with the perfect foundation that works beautifully all day for me. Not a heavy look at all - quite natural. Nice coverage without that mask look.

May I assume you're setting your makeup with powder? If so, what are you using?
My guess is what you really need is a new setting powder.
