Re: Want a pale pink nail nail polish and one that only needs one coat

@jackthebear  I have quite a number of indie polishes that would be fine with one coat. But even with them I use two coats because I've fouind that I can't predict whether one coat will still look ok when it's completely dry.

You need a darker pink that will show pale pink with one coat.  I suggest JINsoon's "Dolly Pink."  It's a retro pink with two coats, but a pale pink with one coat.  Available at Sephora.com.

Re: Want a pale pink nail nail polish and one that only needs one coat

I have a number of light polishes from Essie that seem to work pretty well for one coat. I have found that if I can get the polish on in 2-3 swipes I fare far better. If I mess up and have to do 4,  I am doomed to streak! Seche is my top coat of choice too!

@2blonde

That's probably good, but too much work for me!!!

@TuesdayTaylor

So, is that the trick?  Getting a slightly darker pink then I really want so that it will show up with one coat and then cover better?  If so, I'm in!!!!  Thanks.

You're probably right about that.  Application is probably a big part of it.  I am afraid to apply too thick of a coat because it will never dry, so I am probably too stingy on applying.

Two coats are best. For super pale and sheer try Essie Sugar Daddy. For a little more coverage, these are my faves....Essie Adore-a-ball, Essie Madamoiselle, Essie Pink-a-boo, OPI Bubble Bath, OPI Put it in neutral, OPI Care to Danse.

I used OPI Bubble Bath for years and loved it!  I also love Essie Sugar Daddy, Essie has a new Gel top coat that I have been using for a couple of months ans have found that it does helps a manicure to last.

Ii use one coat of a color and then add the top coat.

For me, the ultimate lazy-girl polish is Dior Nail Glow. It's a sheer pink, but so easy to use and dries very quickly.  It's pretty much the only thing I use on my fingernails these days.

I have a couple of these shades.  Very pretty.  I like Essie polish very much.
