I am always leery of any "celebrity" who is hawking a product! Chaz Dean is no exception. His "story" is just that, his. You either buy it or not. My personal feeling is that his story is too expensive and doesn't make his hair look all that great. Because of that, I'm out!

I was under the impression that he was and still is a hair stylist, not a celebrity.

He is a hair stylist....when he's not traveling he is in the salon Thursday, Friday & Saturday doing hair...he posts pics on social media of before & afters, he posts videos of consultations with new clients....clearly some (not you SuzyQ) doesn't know who Chaz Dean really is in person...

This raises a question. Could Chaz really run a busy salon, doing hair 3 days a week and run a multi-million dollar company at the same time? This is not to bash Chaz, I think he's a lovely, sincere person and congratulate him on his success. But, he's not a chemist, so can't be the one in the laboratory formulating products, is probably not managing the production factory and shipping. There has to be a good sized staff behind this, or does GR run it? Is he just the "pretty face" put out front for telemarketing?

Shopping channels give us the impression that the person on air is running the business solo, because we only see that one face. It helps to sell product and build loyalty when customers feel a relationship with the person.

Perhaps you were unaware, but Chaz has been formulating products for decades. He had many years of experience formulating hair products for other companies before he started his own line.

OK let's redefine the term. Use "celebrity hair stylist" instead, meaning he who has an infomercial and a multi billion dollar company and has a product selling on a shopping network. Either way, again, you either buy the story of the product or not. No argument from me should you want to buy it. I don't because it's too expensive, IMHO, for what you get.

Definitely try both. I use Nick's products and they are better than any store products purchased for my fine lifeless hair. I have never tried WEN. As to hairstylist product recommendations, I used to go to one that swore by an overpriced product and I used until she moved to another salon selling different products and suddenly her highly recommended product became no good.

WEN is just basically a gimmick. The idea of WEN is to throw away everything you are using as shampoo is so BAD.... and then buy expensive WEN. stock up... Buy GALLONS OF THE STUFF, wash your dogs with it..... it will change your life.{#emotions_dlg.sneaky} People are desperate to have model hair....and will believe anything. The honest answer is.... There is nothing wrong with shampoo. NOTHING.

Can you use both WEN and NICK C. products? Of course you can. In fact you would come out ahead using Nicks products to get your scalp clean from all the WEN build up.

WEN is just ridiculously priced.... and a lot of hype. You can just go to the store and by Suave or Pantene and save a lot of money not buying either WEN or Nick Chavez. But if I had to choose between the two... I would go with Nick's products.

You are seriously narrow-minded. Black women have been using conditioner only for years. My relatives thought shampoo was so bad it was always followed by vinegar to replace acidity, keep you hair from breaking off. And the shampoo they preferred was Dr somebody's castille soap. There has always been a segment of the population who abhor shampoo. If you are going to use conditioner only, I prefer one that cleanses. If you use WEN as directed and splash your hair with water after applying WEN cleansing conditioner, it works up a foam that is similar to the "gentle" shampoos used in the fancy salons. I, and all of mine, use oils and waxes to straighten, condition, moisturize hair and scalp. You'd think you would have to use a shampoo to get all of that product out, to cleanse. WEN does get rid of all the added grease, oil, gel etc. The second application is essential and if you use the styling creme as directed you can really feel the difference in your hair, especially the ends, just as Chaz demonstrates so frequently on air.

I love WEN. My hair loves WEN. I can have an afro, curly twists or blow dry and flat iron to a better result than obtainable with the traditional relaxer ( and the dozens of products required to prevent balding from the poisons in the relaxer)

You're right, you opinion is yours. My opinion is that you are misguided. You display your lack knowledge of , or concern for, cultural diversity . What is good for you just might be the worst selection for someone other than you. And why the hostility?

Hi

Not only is Chaz intimately involved firsthand in his product development, he has the ability to work on them in all his locations on site. Being a client, I am a test subject. There is no big huge staff behind him. :-)

Then you need to think again!  Wen works on short hair just as well as long.  How do I know?  I've used every product out there and they all fell short.  (exuse the pun) but Wen is the only product that delivered.  My hair is long now and I had to cut it all off from damage from shampooing and coloring.  It is now all grown back in and just amazing.  The color is rich and vibrant and I DON'T dye it anymore.  I get compliments all the time and people look at it in disbelief because of the wonderful results Wen gives.  Chaz is right.  ANY product that lathers will strip.  That's not good.  Wen cleanses without stripping.  I discovered this for myself before Wen.  This is how I know it's a fact.

Why is Nick Chavez attacking Chaz Dean so fiercely?  I think I know.  Jealousy.  If Nick Chavez does not like Chaz or Wen then don't use it, that simple.  Anyone who goes out of their way to bash anyone or anything is SO obviously jealous.  I've been a Wen girl for seven years now and I get compliments on my hair from strangers all the time.  Chaz is right.  Anything that lathers, strips.  Wen is not hype.  It works.  If it didn't work people who have the choice of going to any salon they wish would not go to his salon.  They know it works.  The old adage you get what you pay for is true.  Any product with 80 or more natural, healthy ingredients in it is not going to be cheap.  I don't mind getting my money's worth for any great product.  Price does not even matter.  It's not like only the super rich can afford it.  I've seen some over the counter hair products that were quite pricey and only made my hair more dull and drab.  WEN WORKS GET OVER IT!
