Re: Venting - What would YOU do?

Samples don't set a mold issue straight. They should be mortified and immediately send you a new one or issue a prompt refund. Sounds like very expired product, this is why I stick to first line retailers that I know carry current stock.

I would just return it. You don't pay to ship it back when it is defective. Then reorder a new one.

I wouldn't contact anyone.

You have to contact Amazon to get the return label and most shippers require a return authorization first.

I wouldn't use it. Under those circumstances, you'd be foolish to use it. I'd return it and demand a refund.

I go online and print my own label and it is free shipping back if you mark the defective box and explain what is wrong with it.

Super easy.

Maybe all the stuff I have had to return was from Amazon and not an individual seller? I don't know.

Re: Venting - What would YOU do?

Let me make sure I understand this procedure: with Amazon, you can go online and print a return label for a product, and ship it back in the same box? You mark it defective and they take care of the rest?

I was doing my returns wrong. If I was unhappy (once because a product from a Japan vendor never arrived) it was like breaking into the Federal Reserve to get a refund.

Please clarify if getting a refund from Amazon is easy? THX

That is what I do. YES! You tape the printed label on the box and they pick it up at your house. It is wonderful! You usually get your refund back before they have the defective product back. Best returns ever.

Try it!

Edit: I just wanted to explain that when you get to Amazon after logging in, you go to "my orders" or something like that. It will show everything you have ordered. I think over to the right of each item, it has options that you can do with that item. One of the options is "return". Just click it and it walk you through it. So simple. The wording might not be exact, but you get the idea.

Re: Venting - What would YOU do?

Anytime possible, I try to order items that are a shipped from Amazon. They are eligible for Prime, have better tracking, better quality control. Though Amazon will help you out with CS even if is shipped from the vendor. I don't want the hassle. If it doesn't arrive in 15 days I'm on the internal Amazon email asking where my stuff is. Then there is a paper trail.

Plus, once they see that return label has been processed for shipping in UPS system, they start processing your return! They don't even wait for the merch to come back. They risk of them being ripped off is much less important than the customer good will. I've only returned to Amazon once, but it was painless.
