I agree that those damning V are the makers of expensive products that likely don't work any better than petroleum jelly which has been in use for almost a century.

@Love my grandkids  - One of those slamming petroleum jelly is Josie M.

@BalletBabe  - that's quite a story.  I know you must have been afraid with your vision affected.  Glad everything worked out well!  Smiley Happy

@San Antonio Gal   Yes, I was very scared.  My vision is still good to this day.  I don't think you can buy sun lamps anymore.  I hope not anyway.

The funny thing is every time I've tried to give her products a chance, after about 2 months of use, I throw them out!

@Kachina624   My derm has also had me use vaseline after Mohs surgery.  Can't use neoporin, co I used vaseline.

You got it right. It's about the money. Very inexpensive product that works for all kinds of things. If it works why not use it?

I don't have a problem using it on my face. It's an ingredient in Aveeno Eczema Therapy Soothing Cream that I use on my face on dry patches when needed. It works.

Doesn't leave your face greasy.

My dermatologist gave me a small tube of Aquaphor to use after having a mole removed.  Aquaphor is petroleum jelly, just a less scary name I guess.  On my last ski trip, my nose was getting raw so I went to the Hungry Moose and bought an Aquphor lip balm in the tube to use on it.  I told DH I would use Vaseline, but they only had that in a larger container and the tube traveled better.  I could put it in my pocket while skiing or in my purse.

Wait, what!!?? We're not supposed to eat it?  I'm sure I've eaten it during my eat all things weird youth.  I ate glue, so why not Vaseline?  BTW, petroleum jelly is what is in Petrolax which is what you give your cats for hairballs.  If it's safe for my kitty to eat, I don't think it's going to do me much harm if ingested.

For those of you who use it on your feet (assuming you use it overnight), do you wear socks to bed?

Yes, I do wear socks to bed after I apply Vaseline to my feet.
