Re: VA reopening phase 1 May 15

I hope so for your sake.  I live in NC and we are looking at end of May before haircuts.  My son is getting married in VA on June 19 (this is their 3rd date change). So just hoping and praying VA is at a stage where there can be 50 people by then.

Kathy, I believe the news said 10 people would be the max at first. Not sure 50 will be allowed by 6/19. Fingers crossed.

Yay! I've worn my hair short for decades (getting it cut every 4-5 weeks) and often thought about growing it out. My last cut was in late February and I can't wait for my next cut!

The Department of Justice just issued a statement suggesting Virginia acted above and beyond its rightful call of COVID-19 government duty by closing churches to more than 10 people while allowing some private businesses to host untold numbers of shoppers.

Maybe it will open up even more....

Re: VA reopening phase 1 May 15

PA is doing a phase 1 on May 8 but does not include my county. They are opening up 24 counties on that date. Our governor said that salons won't open probably until sometime in the mid Summer. Everytime he appears on TV, his hair and beard are neatly trimmed. Too many unknowns. No word of when our churches would open. My heart breaks for the small businesses. Some of those people invested life savings and may not be able to recover.

@Tricolor In our state the governor never shut down churches....but in my area most took the virus seriously and did not hold in person services...

Re: VA reopening phase 1 May 15

They announced tonight that NC will for sure enter Phase 1 on 5/9 for 2 weeks and if we continue leveling or lowering we will be in Phase 2.  According to the guidelines I believe at that time there can be gatherings of 50 and hair salons will be open.

I am sure that businesses will take every precaution because they won't want to put anyone at risk. Areas with low cases should be given the chance. A well known doctor in our are said that it's time for our area to release some of these restrictions.
