Using grocery store ORGANIC coconut oil to remove m/u before facial soap -- Yay or nay

Is it redundant to use both coconut oil and PTR facial cleanser?  Any Problem  using "regular", organic coconut oil rather than one specifically sold as a m/u remover? TIA

The coconut oil (I use argan oil) will break down the makeup but not clean your skin.

I don't think it will matter for makeup remover if you use regular coconut oil, as log as it agrees with your skin. That's why I use argan oil.

And, then I use FAB Face Cleanser.

How, pray tell, does one produce an ORGANIC coconut?  Just that description would make me suspicious of the product.

Just be aware that some coconut oils may clog pores and some can even cause breakouts. Fractionated, rather than extra virgin, is less pore-clogging. If the coconut oil is a liquid at room temp then that should be okay. If it is a solid at room temp then I would not use it on my face.

Does PTR have a customer service /Q&A you could direct this question to?

@MsCatLuver. I’ll volunteer to be the test bunny. Started using Dr. Bonner’s Organic Coconut Oil (solid) recommended by DD when she visited last month. She flew here w/ hers in travel envelopes (interesting, huh?). Purchased at WholeFoods, use pinky nail amount, rub between hands for few seconds & poof, liquid cleansing oil. It’s been taking off eye makeup, reg. makeup & leaves my skin not greasy, but w/ a nice feel...not tight like some cleansers.

Here’s the rub: other oil cleansers (that said “cleanser” somewhere on the bottle), have turned milky, rinsed makeup off my white washcloths afterwards in sink water...this oil did not come off cloth until went in washer w/ detergent. This made me doubt how clean my face could actually be if makeup doesn’t come off washcloth, is it all coming off skin? The cotton ball test: using my Bobbi Brown Oil Cleanser, I went back over my face and cleansed. No makeup left.

For cleansing, so far, so good. DD adds back a tiny amt. to towel dried skin as her moisturizer. Not sure I’d use just oil even though I do add just a drop of Arian oil to my moisturizer.

🤓 My scientific conclusion, after the month, is that it’s just OK, fast & thorough. I prefer an oil that turns foamy/milky...just that old “soapy bubbly clean” mentality.

@Shanus,

Not everyone has problems using CO. But those who do, know too well.

@SilleeMee. At less than $8 for the huge jar, out it goes. Not waiting for cysts, clogged pores, etc. Definitely not worth it.

How much makeup does one have to have on to require

a remover before a cleanser...🧐😳
