Urban Decay Naked FALLOUT?

I'm a late bloomer when it comes to the Urban Decay Naked palette. I ordered and received it about one week before I ordered the Naked 2 palette. Anyway, I have never been so excited to try an eyeshadow, and have never been so disappointed!

I wanted to love this eyeshadow so much after hearing about it and wanting it for such a long time. I've used both high-end expensive shadows and low-end inexpensive, and I can say this is the worst shadow for fallout! No matter which one I use, I end up with a sparkly, muddy, smeary mess on my face that I have to clean off after already applying powder, blush, etc. Please, if I wanted sparklies on my nose and upper lip, I'd put them there! Sheesh!

I almost hate this palette, and am not looking forward to Naked 2, especially when I just read that someone else is having the same issues with the mattes. Am I missing something? Is there a trick I haven't learned? Did I get a bad palette?

Or is the greatness that is UD Naked simply an urban myth?
