Sebastian makes a great one. There is also one or two brands that do clear at the drugstore. Clairol? It will say CLEAR. It is above the tints, near the OOPS and other specialty hair tints and treatments.

If you know someone who has a license, ask them a favor when they go to supply house. Try a product by Matrix, called GLOSS SYNC. It comes in clear, and many colors. I use a red/violet on my gray roots and it actually covers for 4 weeks. I think a tube is about 6 bux (I use 2) and you need a special developer. You don't have to use 2, I throw out about an ounce when I am done. But I love to totally saturate my hair. I have very curly hair, sort of wild and frizzy these days. Then I use Deva Curl. I use a clear in between.

More brands are coming out with clear. Try online and see what is out there.

I'm glad you found a solution, Mindy!

I like the contrast that my grays have against my hair. The few strands that cause problems: I look like I have been electrocuted.
