I have a Derma Blend cover up in light...It is too dark for my skin tone. I did purchase it over 6 months ago at a store... I live over 40 miles from the nearest Ulta...
A problem I don't have the receipt anymore... I did want to exchange for the Fair which is the lightest...
My husband had surgery a few weeks ago and cannot drive or get around now..
I don't drive an older car and would be afraid to venture going that far...
Just wondering if anyone knows there return policy... To add I never used it...

Did you purchase it six months ago or six weeks ago? If it is six months, I can't imagine that they would take it back. I can't actually speak from experience with Ulta however. I have never stepped foot inside one of the stores nor shopped with them online.

That must be a new policy because last year I was looking for a CC cream and I tried the product out at home (tested) and I returned 3 different products, 3 different times. I was embarrassed that nothing was working out for me but no questions were asked.

Is it possible that Ulta has a limit on returns of used items, and the OP's account had been flagged? This would be the same as QVC sending "the letter." Businesses apparently do not need to spell out such practices in their return policies.

I recently returned a new/sealed lipstick to Ulta- with barely looking at the item the store rep asked me if it was used. It was still sealed! I assumed it was a standard question they ask everyone- but it was asked in an almost accusatory manner. I thought to myself 'I'm glad I don't shop here often!'

To the OP: sounds like the chick didn't want to be bothered doing the return. I just came from Ultra and asked the manager about returns. She told me no problem with returning something used.
Considering they will not sample you a product, I think it's ignorant to say no returns on used items. Fine, but then SAMPLE the customer.
As for asking about if something has been used: If it is, it's damaged out. If it isn't, it goes back on the floor. They are supposed to look at the "Non-used" items more closely before they go on the floor but sometimes things happen. I found this out when purchasing false lashes as I wear them quite a bit. I pulled 4 pairs of Ardell and saw that they had ALL been used (those that were lashes know what I mean by the band being gummy). I walked up to Carol (the store manager) and showed here; she was disgusted. Later she and I discussed the "Honor System" they have in place when asking customers if something is used. She said try don't care just be up front so THEY know what needs to be done with the item.
I've never had any issues with returning anything I've used. Now, returning something front the website to the store is another story, lol.

I don't return used products unless they do not do what is advertised, and I would be highly upset if there were a hassle on that. I keep everything that sorta works, or maybe is slightly off on a shade. I figure that's my fault for being picky. I consider it a lesson learned.

Dear Lovestodance,
The return policy quoted in Post #4 goes on to say that "A store credit will be issued on a return after 60 days of original purchase date." They will look at the product to make sure you didn't use most or all of it, and they should accept your return for store credit. Hope that helps.

Good point, and it is more applicable. Thanks for clarifying that for her.
