Went to Ulta yesterday - I prefer Sephora but I was in a hurry & Ulta was closer. They have really changed up the place & it looks much better! HOWEVER.....I never liked going in there before because (no offense) I know much more about the products they carry than they do. I understand most of the clerks are very young and cannot possibly know everything about every line, but come on, I do!!!! Smiley Happy

Anytime I have a question I always get, "What's that"? or "I've never heard of that". And then I end up finding it myself. Also, there seemed to be a group of corporate or manager folks of some sort in yesterday. All of the associates were so busy fawning over them that they couldn't take time to help me locate some understock of something that appeared to be out of stock on the shelves. Also, one of the "corporate gals" was cussing quite loudly about some product and how terrible it was. 3 of these gals were also standing in front of the Smashbox area and when I was obviously trying to browse that section, they just looked at me and wouldn't move! Too busy cursing about this or that - loud enough for customers to hear! If anyone from Ulta reads this, please pass along to your company that your customer service standards stink. Not only do clerks not know about the product lines they carry, they have no professionalism. I will say that the young lady that checked me out was very pleasant and doubled my coupon. I didn't complain or anything, she did this voluntarily & told me that she didn't think I was receiving all the coupons I should b/ my address was wrong in the system. It was nice to have someone check me out that didn't have that "nothing behind the eyes" look that most of the Ulta girls have. Okay, rant over.....will be going to Sephora from now on. Yes, Sephora clings too much to customers but at least they know their products & customer service.... sigh....
