Ugg! My bangs are thinning. What can I do?

I've noticed over the last several months that my bangs are thinning, but kind of ignored it. Today I was at my hairdresser and I noticed my hair really is thinning. I'm concerned I'll have a bald spot soon.

Was wondering if any of you or your friends experience this and what your or they did about it.

I'll turn 51 in a few weeks.

TIA.

Thinning hair as we age is nothing new, it happens to many of us. I would recommend doing overnight oil treatments on your scalp to stimulate your scalp and encourage more growth. I like using the original version of WEN Tea Tree Oil, but if you do some research you will find other options as well. As for a styling product, there are several thickening products out there. I've tried a few. I liked one by Not Your Mothers, but right now I'm using something by Kenra. Paul Mitchell makes one and I'm sure other popular lines do as well.

If you want to go to a full system, you might look into Nioxin. My sister was complaining about thinning hair a few years ago and I gifted a Nioxin kit to her. She liked it and my BIL noticed a difference, but as soon as it was gone that was the end of it because my sister is a real tightwad.

Maracuja oil is excellent for the scalp but personally, I would check with your doctor as to what would be best. Your hair stylist did not suggest anything when you were with her? Do a Google on the maracuja oil to read about all it's benefits.

No, my hairdresser told me it was happening to her and it would just get worse...lol.

Thanks, I'll look into Maracuja oil.

Hi NC Bandwagon Smile

Thanks, I'll have to look into those products as well. This is such a silly issue to be so concerned about, considering some of the health issues so many face. But I knew QVC peep's would have great suggestions.

Hope you have a great New Years Eve.

Happy New Year to you as well, Make-Up, LVR.

Not a silly issue at all. Hair means a lot to women and girls.

Re: Ugg! My bangs are thinning. What can I do?

I had the same problem. My doctor told me about a shower filter. I purchased it at Lowe's. Home Depot may have it. Never had another problem. It's The Sprite Shower Filter, cost $49.95 and and you change it once a year.

Our water all over the country is terrible, full of contaminates, etc., even well water. Wish I had known about this sooner.
