I had posted a question a while ago about makeup for my teen.  I received so many responses and wonderful ideas.  I decided I"m going to take her to either the Cllinque counter at Macy's or Sephora and make it a special day.  We're also going to get our nails done and go out to lunch.  If we go to Sephora, I don't know what makeup we'll look at.  Right now leaning towards Clinique at Macy's because I think they may be more attentive and less crowded.  I don't want to over do it, I want it to be simple and pretty and easy for her to do.  My daughter's midterms are over and she did so well.  She works very hard and gets good grades.  She deserves this and I'm looking to some quality time with my daughter.  Thanks everyone for your help.

Re: UPDATE: MAKEUP FOR MY TEEN

@ScrapHappy   Sounds like a wonderful day you have planned. I remember doing this with my daughter, too. She's never forgotten. Good for you creating memories for her.

@ScrapHappy - Sounds like you have a great day planned with your daughter. I did this with both of mine and it was a wonderful experience for both of us, not to mention the one on one time.

Re: UPDATE: MAKEUP FOR MY TEEN

@ScrapHappy  - Going to the Clinique counter was my suggestion and I'm sure she will love it.  As I said in the other thread, you'll be able to get a few nice quality items for a reasonable price.  Also, you'll have one of the sales reps there to suggest items and test them out on your daughter.  Enjoy!

Re: UPDATE: MAKEUP FOR MY TEEN

Very fun!!!   Back when my dd was a teen and wanting to try eye makeup, Smashbox had their artists at Nordstrom so they did her makeup.   The guy did a fabulous job.  Very subtle yet looked fabulous and perfect for her age.  The MU was a guy that appeared every now and then on QVC, so that was fun.

One of my GFs In HS loved Clinique products and was quite pleased with them.

Enjoy your outing with your daughter.

Re: UPDATE: MAKEUP FOR MY TEEN

Clinique is an excellent choice.  Call and request an appointment ahead of time, both Macy's and Sephora will take appointments.  Then you'll definitely have someone dedicated to helping you. Drop ins always end up gett interrupted.
