ULTA, EVERYTHING TAPED DOWN, NO TOUCHING

I took my daughter to Ulta today.  I had my mask and gloves on, there are signs, NO TOUCHING!  The lipsticks had tape over them and taped in the displays as well.  All you can do is look at open samples through the tape.  Although I never try anything open, I need to at least see the color well enough.   I guess the only way to be sure is re-buy a lipstick I've already had...but I want a very light matte baby pink for a change.   So I wont be buying anything for quite some time.

I also looked at eye creams, again you cant sample anything,  so I bought No.7 Lift and Luminate eye cream.   I love Shiseido Benefiance eye cream,  but wanted something luminous for day...I hate under eye concealer.

They said I can return it if I want.

All said, I think it's the safer way, not to touch anything,  but hard to shop like that.  I wear gloves too.

I was watching a Youtuber yesterday who was commenting that you can't get any samples or use testers in Sephora.  I never thought about any of that.

Do they allow returns on cosmteics, which will most likely end up as a loss for them

They’re still not open in CA. What they need to do is make samples for customers if they won’t allow us to touch. I know Sephora would do that if you asked. Let’s hope the cosmetic companies themselves will have blister packs or something so that we can try before we buy in a hygenic way.

The thing about gloves is that they are only as clean as the last thing you touched.  They are for your protection, not others.

BTW How do you like the No7 Lift and Luminate eye cream?  I believe they sell it at Walgreens. ???

Fear not Brothers and Sisters! I have read THE BOOK..........we win!!!

@tends2dogs , I used the eye cream yesterday and today...its pretty good...smooths lines, seems hydrating enough, and not greasy.   I dont think it luminates the under eye area.  I've been looking very tired lately (alot going on in my life), so I'm hoping for a brighter look around the eyes.  I do not like concealers.   I think the cream is a keeper, and cheap enough.  Yes, Walgreens carries No.7, they own the brand.   They always offer 50 percent off the 2nd item.  I also use their night cream, Restore and Renew, its excellent!  The day spf 30 is also very nice.

@Janey2 , some places had suspended returns during the pandemic.  Target wasn't taking them for about a month or so.  I'm not sure if Walmart is or not. As of 2 weeks ago they were only accepting some returns but nothing like clothing or shoes.

I never understood why people were wearing gloves when they go shopping. Coming from the healthcare field, after I did a procedure on someone they immediately were tossed. The other day I saw a good explanation why not to wear gloves. The physician was quoted as saying if you use gloves to clean chicken (which I do) you would immediately toss them. So by wearing gloves to shop you are contaminating everything that you touch. Sorry I am not trying to be rude but just wanted to point out that wearing gloves is not helping you.

Re: ULTA, EVERYTHING TAPED DOWN, NO TOUCHING

Thanks for the heads up! The first thing I do is look at the box and see if it was made in China. If so I put it down. I can shop online without a mask...not going there until they settle down with the fear.
