I just bought some of this scrub after using a sample.  I like it but directions say to use once or twice per week?  I wash my hair every other day.  Can this be used in place of my WEN or my Rise and Shine shampoo?  I like to alternate...

If it's the real scrub with the sea salt in it, I'd recommend that you don't use it daily or even more than once a week.  That formula is very drying and your hair will be like straw.  The other lathering product that comes in a tub, that's smooth and called a lathering cleansing treatment can be used more often and replaces shampoo. However, too often and it could make your hair too soft.  That one yiu have more leeway with though so you can experiment on what works best.

follow the directions and stick to once or twice a week, max. overuse will make the hair too dry and do the opposite of what this awesome product should do. you can alternate it with any other shampoos or cleansing products.

When I use the scrub, I have to use a conditioner.  Sometimes it comes with a matching conditioner but not always.  Use a conditioner and then your hair will not be like straw.  My hair comes out quite well with this combo.

I like the lathering cleansing treatment too.

I would use the scrub once a week and alternate with your other products.  You might be able to go to twice a week since you cleanse so often, but you might want to test both and see what works best for you.

I like this unique line, Denis is so creative but he's not good at giving directions - and he has so many products.  He always says: "Take some, rub it around and leave it on for a while OR sleep in it but don't use water....".  WHAAATT?

I can't read the microscopic print on the bottles!  I got the Scrub and couldn't determine whether to wet my hair First before applying it. It's an ordeal to wet my hair First then apply then wait?  (Logistics - I'm still dealing with back surgery weakness). My hair is long and thick and curly.  I can't imagine putting the Scrub on Dry Hair but I want to do the Best for my scalp & hair.  Maybe I should ask Shawn, she claims to use it all the time.

Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

@CaliGold67 - apply to wet hair.  Add more water to create a lather.

This is from the "How to Use" segment on an HSN listing:

How to Use

  • Use at least once a week in place of your normal shampoo.
  • Apply about a tablespoon's worth on wet hair and work through in sections.
  • Gently massage until you feel the paste turn to foam, and focus on the roots.
  • Add more water throughout treatment to create a thick lather.
  • For an intensified effect, let it sit for two minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
