Trish McEvoy makeup? is it better than the rest?

I've never used it, do you recommend her makeup? It seems a bit expensive! I've been using it cosmetics lately, but I've yet to find my HG. Should I try Trish McEvoy? TIA

Re: Trish McEvoy makeup? is it better than the rest?

I like Trish McEvoy but I do find her products somewhat expensive. They are good quality. I especially like her shadows; her concealers are quite nice. I don't like her mascara. I found my HG in L'Oreal Million Lashes and won't change. Her mascara gave me raccoon eyes!

If you're thinking about getting some of her line I would suggest that you go to a department store that carries her line, e.g., Nordstroms, and have one of her reps do a makeover. That's how I got into her line.

What I like most about her is her use of makeup. She has a triangle method that she used under eye with her concealer. It works miracles! I also use the same technique with Mally's eye concealer. Trish's tutorials are superb.

Re: Trish McEvoy makeup? is it better than the rest?

I have some Trish McEvoy makeup and yes it is expensive. I bought the kit off hsn after having my make-up done while visiting NYC with my daughter. The kit included the 24 hour eyeshadow/liner in glamorous, intense gel eyeliner in black, lash enhancing liquid liner pen in intense black, dramatic lash mascara in black, eye base essentials and an instant eye lift. I love love love the lash enhancing liquid, it really makes a difference and stays on all day long. I find the eye base flakes off after a few hours..the mascara in the kit flakes on me after a couple of hours also. Like the eyeshadow/liner, it looks dark when you first apply it, but when you smooth it out, it is lovely and soft looking and lasts all day. The gel eyeliner in black is very intense, it does go on very easy, but the darkness of it is way to intense for me personally. The instant eye lift in medium I think is a bit dark for me and the effect of it seems to wear off quite quickly on me. They did use her BB cream on me in NYC, and after an hour it appeared a bit powdery on my face and sort of settled in my wrinkles, also used was her bronzer which I have purchased seperately and like very much. If I were to recommend one product it would be the lash enhancing liquid liner pen which is not so expensive, but perhaps there are other lash enhancing pen liners or eyeliner pens that are less expensive that would do the same thing. Hth a little?

The quality of her make-up is really nice. I have tried several of her products and really like them. But my favorite thing about her line is the brushes and planner. I have many high-end brushes and hers continue to be my favorite. The planner is so practical and really helps to streamline the process of putting on make-up, while keeping everything super organized. She has sales on her website all the time and always gives lots of freebies. If you are interested in her line I would definitely sign-up for her emails. In order to find what works best for you and avoid wasting money, I would definitely go to a counter like Blue Mercury or Nordstroms for a make-over. This way you can find out if you really like it before you buy, and then purchase only what really works for you. Keep in mind that if you start with the basics at the counter, wait for her website sales to really stock up on the stuff you want.

I don't think so at all. I have her high lighter or whatever it's called that goes under the eyes but Sinn also has a similar product that works just as well if not better for way less in cost. I think she's over rated.

Re: Trish McEvoy makeup? is it better than the rest?

the tubular mascara is my hg it comes in a black tube. i like a mascara that stays on and washes off easy. don't like the one in the gold tube it flakes.

i like the intense gel liner in Arabian nights, it is a deep violet blue and it stays put, i tightline upper lashes and it doesn't travel. the best color i have found as deep violet blue liners are the best for my eyes, and no pesky smudges.

the shadows i have are neutral and aren't super intense and the bronzer/contour and powder blush, the payout is too light for me but i do use it in the winter. i like the triangles of light idea but not a daily app. the intense eye lift is nice, i'm not a heavy user so i still have back-ups of these from a planner i got from HSN. i had a tutorial at Nordstrom where i purchased the BB foundation which is very creamy and dewy.

to answer the question, is TM worth the expense, it depends and i think because they are kind of cool the planners are the attraction with her makeup but i find i still need another bag with makeup, i can't fit everything in the planner.

I have been using her products over 3 years now I use to use Bobbi Brown I find that their prices are about the same they both offer the natural look, but Trish offers skin benefits her husband is a dermatologist. I got started with one of her planners, which has everything you need.{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

I think her line is truly excellent. I always wait until she has a 20% off and free shipping coupon on her website, though. If you like prestige make-up at prestige prices, I say it' a good line to try!!

If you sign up for emails at her website, she almost always has some kind of GWP, with no minimum purchase. I've tried some of her things on the cheap that way. I have bought a lipstick and gotten a 4pc gift and an eye pencil and got a different 4pc gift.

Always free shipping and the gift changes frequently. I just look at the emails every day and if the gift looks like something I want, I go for it. Right now she has
