Re: Tria before and after pic

Yes, the Tria rep stated she uses the device. Therefore, she shouldn't have the very deep wrinkles/creases I see across her entire forehead when she raises her eyebrows, when making a statement. I couldn't take my eyes off them last night on the kick off of the TSV.

I think someone has said something to her as she is doing it less often. But, they are VERY pronounced for someone so young. That issue alone makes me a total non-believer in this system.

They showed one before/after series in which the "before cheek" had lots of redness that looked like rosacea. In the "after cheek', the redness was gone. Now, I know they said this device makes skin "brighter", but they NEVER said it removes redness. I suspect that this person had another treatment like IPL for the redness. While not an outright lie as an "after" shot, they should clarify whether or not the subjects have had other treatments rather than implying that ALL of the results shown come from that one device!

Disappointing... Misleading to put it mildly...

The Tria practically eliminated my mild rosacea. I was diagnosed last summer. After my first 8 week treatment, I saw my derm and she was very surprised to see how much my redness was reduced. I don't have an explanation, but I don't think it was a coincidence.

Re: Tria before and after pic

OK, so I watched the videoclip for the Tria laser TSV A262023 and I do think that the vendor Ereka Vetrini looks like she does have melasma. I suspect that it's also exacerbated by sun exposure as her chest area looks a bit red and sunburned, I would guess she was outdoors without enough facial protection. Melasma is hard to treat and hard to get rid of and sun exposure, even incidental can trigger that unwanted brown pigment especially on the upper lip area. Summers are probably the worst.

But the posters in this thread do have a good point in asking if the Tria laser can trigger or make melasma worse. I would worry about that because I am prone to the skin darkening on my upper lip due to HRT (I also had the same thing happen with birth control pills) and I have to wear a high SPF sunscreen as well as a hat and sunglasses while outside to protect my face.

I know that Ereka is also a vendor for Tria on TSC in Canada but I don't recall if this anti aging laser tool has been sold on TSC or not.

I noticed her forehead lines too, at least you can tell she isn't using Botox there. Some people are just prone to forehead wrinkles and some aren't no matter how young they are.

ah this explains it. On the segment I watched, the rep and host kept saying to read the reviews because so many are mentioning other pleasant "side effects" from using the Tria, things they cannot make claims on but that many users have experienced. I am thinking reducing/eliminating rosacea might be one of those they were referring to.

you know what bothers me though, I specifically asked if these types of laser products could exacerbate hyperpigmentation issues and many people said no as did CS. But it sounds like it CAN do that especially for those prone to it. Supposedly the lasers aren't in the right light spectrum that would affect that but is sounds like people are having this issue! I don't get it.

It actually says on the side of the box to discontinue immediately if you notice a darkening of the skin (and goes on to say how difficult and lengthy the treatment may be). I, of course, didnt pay any attention to that until AFTER I'd finished the treatment, so I have no one but myself to blame. Again. :-)

Wackers said *before* she got her serious laser treatment, they had her use hydroquinone and glycolic acid. And I just this minute read on a Seattle dermatologist's site that some lasers can CAUSE it or make it worse. (Interestingly, she said Fraxel had been found the best type to treat it, and that's supposedly what Tria is.)

Plenty of people have gotten the Tria Tan but it was pretty fleeting, apparently, and cleared up shortly after stopping treatment.

I do think that there should be a "Who Should Not Use...." in-your-face piece, but even then I wouldn't have thought it applied to me. I didn't realize (only did thinking back in retrospect) that I had a "light" condition already.

I cannot believe QVC is still selling this item...

It makes you wonder how many "Smoke & Mirrors" items

that they are peddling to their un-suspecting customers..

There are plenty of users, right here on QVC, who are VERY happy with the results. Like with everything, it will work for some and not for others. I've heard the same about professional laser treatments. So what smoke and mirrors?

Happy user, here! [I purchased my device on the Tria website rather than on QVC.com]. I've mentioned it before, but I'm super pleased with my results. I decided to take the summer off because of the amount of time I spend outdoors, but will start again in September.

I agree - she isn't using Botox - yet. But, young or not this Tria gizmo has done nothing for her forehead lines.

Those are deep expression lines, and not sure they claim the Tria can help with those. But they disappear when she's not making the expressions, whereas lots of people have those wrinkles that remain, even when their faces are relaxed. I think that's maybe where the Tria might have helped? I think they only truly "disappear" with botox or filler (or that's what I'm thinking for mine, anyway).

Re: Tria before and after pic

Maren, has the darkness on your face gotten any lighter since you have stopped the laser? I was hoping you had seen some good results by now.
