Lilredrubi, First off I want to say I am sorry about what happened to your face!! I am sorry for so many other things too. Just good luck to you.

Okay, so you said that you took 3 days off from using the Tria and you have noticed results?? That is fantastic. I haven't stopped one day since I got it and I am going on week 7 in two days. So your post gives me hope!!!! I can not wait to take off the 4 weeks and see what results I will see. I can not believe you saw results after this. I am so happy for you. Two more weeks for me and then I am off for 4. Can't wait.

Burnsnpigs I have the same concerns as you with the redness and dryness. I don't know if this is normal or not. I know a lot have posted they are experiencing the same but who is it to say that it is normal. Is it a means to an end or are we damaging our skin? I don't know. I don't want to quit but I am some worried. After all we are experimenting on our faces. One of the things that bothers me is that there are people that have said within a week or two they are getting beautiful results. Spots have disappeared and wrinkles are gone and skin is brighter. I can honestly say I've not seen any of this. I wish I did but I don't. The only thing I can say is my skin looks worse. I've seen another post here about their skin being really dry and maybe it's going to be the good stuff underneath. I just wish there was more info out about this but I've been looking and can't find anything other than what we've all been exchanging. Which by the way is awesome. I'm so glad I'm able to do this.

I started out trying to do the 7 day but I just could not do it, my face was just so bright red even the next afternoon. I think that was due to the tria serum, which I stopped using 2weeks ago. I'm doing the 5 day routine instead. I have severe scars on my cheeks, between my eyebrows and around my chin from my ex-husband who burned my face when I decided to leave him. I have had 2 laser treatments, it was the Whisper laser, before and several chemical peels before. I have large pores and rough skin because I went through sudden onset menopause when I was 34 due to cancer treatments. I honestly had very little hope on this little laser but I thought it was worth a try. I took the last 3 days off from treatment, OMG LADIES I have great RESULTS!!!!! The scar between my eyes is almost gone. The large broken capillary under my right eye is GONE! My pores have shrunk my skin looks amazing. The other day all I put on was Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and my skin looked like it was lit from within. My deep wrinkles are even looking less deep. I can't wait to see how it looks when I take the 4 weeks off.

Oh, my. You've been through so much -- it's just wonderful you're seeing such happy results! Like snowball, I've been going at this daily and am eagerly awaiting our recovery period. Your post has given me even more hope -- you've seen some pretty astounding changes! Here's hoping we all are VERY pleased after completing the protocol. Wishing you continued happy discoveries!!

How wonderful that you had such great results! It sounds like you sure deserve something good after what you have been through, and I couldn't be happier about that. Did you notice any results as you were treating or did it all happen during those 3 days off? Most of us have another two weeks to go on the eight week protocol and now I can hardly wait to see what happens for all of us. So happy you took the leap of faith and that is has yielded great results for you. Keep us posted.

I know someone asked the question at one point in these Tria threads regarding anyone who had professional laser surgery and how it affected the skin right after, etc. So to answer that and hopefully re-assure all of you having some unpleasant and concerning reactions, I'll relate my professional laser surgery experience.

To sum it up, your skin looks horrid immediately after having the treatment. I had a friend drop me off and pick me up (had anesthesia so was advised not to drive) and she had a 5 year old son who promptly told me he couldn't look at my face as it looked so bad.

You essentially look like a burn victim and with the exception of walking my dogs (with my face hidden as much as possible) I did not leave the house for more than a week, closer to 10 days actually. Even then I still looked really bad but not as horrid. I had to apply a Vaseline type product (I liked Bag Balm better) 24/7 for over 2 weeks. At my two week visit, my Dr said I was healing well and it would be probably another week before I would feel comfortable in public as then I could at least apply something for coverage. He was absolutely right. My skin looked healed enough that no-one really picked up on it.

It was a tough process and one at the time I swore I would never repeat. Still haven't but the dilemma arises because the results are excellent. And improvement continues for up to 6 months.

I know this isn't easy for many of you with all the unpleasant reactions your skin is going through but that's how lasers work - you have to endure some uglies before you get to the pretties.

If you had seen me after my professional treatment, you would have sworn I destroyed my skin for life. But 3 plus weeks later, all my lines and sun damaged skin were gone and my skin really looked great. Hang in there and don't give up at this point. You've got to think of it as the necessary phases that are required before you will see the benefits. And I do believe that although they may vary from person to person, all of you will see some, if not a lot, of real benefits from sticking with it.

What a wonderful post, wackers! I think it may help allay some concerns that have been expressed. Thank you!!

Wackers, thanks for your post! What happens at the 6 month mark? I can't imagine that the results would reverse…. it's too much of an ordeal to go through for just 6 months of great skin.

How long has it been since you had the procedure, and if it's been a while, what are the continued benefits to your skin?

Did you see any improvement in firmness?

Thanks!

No, nothing reverses as the benefits are there to stay for years and years. I had mine done about 15 years ago now and the results kept that area of my face in wonderful shape for over 10 years. Even now, the lines there are a fraction of what they would be had I not had it done.
When I spoke of the 6 months, it was referencing the duration of time it takes to see all the positive benefits as collagen keeps rebuilding for up to that long. At that point, you have the full reward of having the laser surgery.

Even with this Tria laser, the results you gain are going to last for quite some time, possibly years. You may start aging in different areas but the benefits don't just disappear. It takes time to see collagen loss and time for collagen to rebuild which is going to last for awhile.

I just really wanted to re-assure anyone thinking they were doing damage because although some of your skin responses so far haven't been fun, it's all part of the process. My skin literally came off in sheets for weeks and I look burned, wrinkled, horribly red, and just an overall mess. Yet I knew it was all part of the process and never worried that I did myself harm.

The FDA would never have approved this type of home laser if there was any danger. They are put through some serious testing before they ever obtain that approval. Just hang in there and stay focused on the improvements you'll be seeing before you know it.

Thanks Wackers! I appreciate the detailed explanation. That is what I would expect with respect to the results. I don't want anything as severe as what you went through to get the results, though! I'm looking forward to good results with the Tria.
