She leaned over to me and said, "your skin is so smooth and beautiful" - she went on to tell me that I have no wrinkles. Wow, she blew me away with her comments as I feel like my skin is a bit rough right now with redness and dryness the laser produces. My skin does continue to look tighter - I'm excited to see what this will look like at the end of the eight weeks and beyond. Now that I have seen pictures of festoons (never knew what that area was called), I can say mine have improved quite a bit. To encourage any older ladies that this will work on your skin - I am 70. Tria has only used 40 - 50ish women for their examples, but I am here to say that it DOES work on older skin. I'm more than thrilled with the results and I'm confident there is even better results to come.

I'm sure their CS department could advise if they recommend AM treatments combined with make-up. My personal choice (I have sensitive, thin skin) is to do the treatment each evening and to combine the treatments with gentle skin care products PM and AM as well as protect my skin daily with mineral based sunscreens.
I guess I should follow the post treatment care. I never thought of the wound channels. As usual , thanks again.

Morning lyn,
I have not followed every single Tria thread (most but not all) so may have missed when or where (or even if) you discussed what you apply to your skin after your Tria. Would you mind repeating what skin care products you do use after the Tria? I am not currently using the Tria but think I might consider it in the future sometime when it's quite likely all these great threads will be long gone. So am trying to absorb and gain as much info now from all of you and writing down the important points I want to remember.
I know you do serious due diligence about what is both best and safest to apply to the skin after any kind of skin barrier penetration and am just hoping you might not mind sharing once again what you've chosen to use after your laser treatments. I'd really appreciate it.
It seems (from what I've read) that there's a wide variance of what everyone is using and I'd like to add to the notes I'm keeping some of the safest products.
Thanks much and hope your skin (and everyone else's) continues to respond well.

Based on what I've read about needling, the channels probably close within 10-15 minutes, however I wouldn't apply sunscreen or make-up after my Tria treatment, because I wouldn't want those products to get into the channels left behind. On 4/25/2014 snowball said:My face feels hot, some nights more so than others. I never thought of getting this done in the AM - are you both putting makeup on after? On 4/25/2014 baby 2 said:Snowball, I get a little pink but I don't get red. As a matter of fact I do my treatments in the morning and then go out. Now, although I don't get red, I do feel that my face is hot. (I actually like the feeling). Does your face feel hot or at least warm when you finish?
baby 2, Yes my face feels hot while I am doing it. But by the end, I don't know if I am just used to it, but it feels less hot. I too can do it in the morning and then go out, in fact I did twice this week.
Makes sense, Lyn!

I went from dreading it the first several times to not minding it at all now. I also have fair somewhat sensitive skin that seemed to get irritated by every 'anti aging' cream out there and this has been so much better so far!
I know! I was TERRIFIED to try L2 and L3! Now I look forward to it every night! This is the easiest, fastest treatment I've ever done. It's just like an extension of washing my face, then I apply products as always. It couldn't be easier!

I'm so glad you are having a positive experience as well! I had given up trying retinols, vitamin C and my doctor advised against me using rx retinol. Its one of the reasons I was so interested in the Tria to help build collagen. Yes, it has gotten easy for me as well and I no longer mind it. Its so weird at first with the burning and all-a bit nerve wracking as we all hoped it would go away by morning. DH doesn't even notice I'm doing anything different. One evening I came downstairs and he said "you look so cute with your rosy cheeks."
I told him I was doing my nightly beauty treatment and they'd be rosy for a while. LOL He also commented the other day after looking at my face for a few moments that I looked 'really good'. Personally I feel my skin is firmer but I also lost 5 lbs and so I'm having trouble telling if its my face thinning out or indeed there is some firming going on. I'm hoping for both. My forehead line improved rather quickly but other than that I feel I look the same. My fingers are crossed that when I go into the 4 week 'off' phase the fine lines below my eyes will noticeably improve.

BTW, the woman complimenting me on my skin was probably in her late 30's and she said she thought my age to be mid to late 50's. Needless to say, she made my day.
Agree with Lyn -- GREAT testimonial! Wow! And yes, now that you mention it my skin does seem a bit tighter. I couldn't put my finger on it but knew that something looked better. Other than that, not seeing and real differences, either, but I'm shocking myself at my patience to hang in there until the rest period. I think if I was expecting results after a couple of weeks this might be on its way back to the Q by now. Here's hoping we are well rewarded for our diligence!

On 4/26/2014 lyn in MI said: You're welcome, snowball. Dr. Setterfield's book states that cosmetic derma rolling allows up to 80% more product into the skin, (compared to just 7 - 10% with normal topical application), and the longest cosmetic length needle is only 0.3mm. The Tria penetrates 0.45mm deep, which is 50% deeper than the 0.3mm roller. I believe it is very important that we choose our post-treatment products knowing that they will penetrate into these channels. As Dr. Setterfield states, "Needling, or any other treatment modality for that matter, will always deliver inferior results if not combined with the building blocks of topical nutrients with which the cell can work."
Lyn, I truly always admire the level of research, understanding of such, level of common sense you utilize prior to as well as during any new product, tool you are investing in using. Having done several of the 8 week sessions of the Tria since I purchased from Canada in 2012, to be completely honest, I have been just literally cringing at some of the things I have been reading from others on these updates. I have gotten the impression some may not have a real understanding exactly what this tool is doing. My concern is the harshness of, variety of other products some are using along with this tool. I guess thinking will improve results or don't want to abstain during the 8 week period. Depending on the individual, my concern is the serious damage that could possibly occur. The Tria is creating a type of damage, for lack of a better word, at a deeper level and exposing this damage to harshness, harsh ingredients...that is really scary to me. The several 8 week treatments I have done, I have always followed protocol. So I have done zero damage to myself. As well, everyone is going to experience different results. I don't think it is very common to experience the "wow" results many are thinking they will receive from the first 8 week treatment period. This is an ongoing process, like anything it is not a one time deal. I think some are expecting way too much based on what they have read elsewhere. I wish everyone luck, but please be realistic and I can only emphasize to follow protocol so something unforeseen and unfortunate does not occur that may or may not be repairable.
