Tria: Week 10 / Recovery Week 2

OK, so the redness and peeling are finally all gone. As another Tria user put it, my skin developed a "bronzed" look during treatment but I am back to my pale self. I don't see any improvement in deep wrinkles or pore size. The wrinkles I recently developed at the corners of my mouth appear to have diminished. I am still using Isomers R Pur in the morning before applying makeup, and Skinn huile/hydrosurge/vitamin C at night. Neck appears slightly firmer (it was really getting crepey), but I am also using Skinn redensifying neck treatment twice per day.

Every day when I get in the car to drive home I open the moonroof, yank down the sun visor, and take a look at my skin. (Nothing like an inspection in broad daylight to really tell you the truth.) I don't see any improvement yet.

My delivery date was April 1, and my mail back date is June 28.

Re: Tria: Week 10 / Recovery Week 2

I'm not quite where you are yet, FS, but my skin feels like velvet again, the red and "tan" are almost gone, and it looks as though my deep wrinkles are lessening a LITTLE (but not sure).

My deep wrinkles are from expression lines and the sag caused by loss of facial fat. Think basset hound, or as shannara mentioned, Tommy Lee Jones! I don't think anything but a LIFT would alleviate those folds, not sure laser can tighten enough to do that.

Same with expression lines -- they're so deep plus I keep making the same expressions all the time, don't know how they could recover sufficiently

I will say at this point -- about 4 days into my rest period -- my SKIN looks really good. Except for the remaining redness and tan, of course. I don't see any little "fine lines" and it just looks a little plumper, and as someone else mentioned, denser. I think my skin would stand up well next to someone in her 30's (I'm 61) but when you step back and see the neck wattle, loss of fat folds, general sagging, I look my age.

I'd love it if this could address all that, but it won't, but at this point I'm cautiously thinking I'll probably keep it. Like you, I'm going to go right up to the deadline before making my final decision.

It is possible that my skin looks a little plumper, and I really do believe the crepiness on my neck has tightened quite a bit. I just expected it to help with 11s and fine lip lines, and I see only worsening or no improvement there. Perhaps I just need to be patient.

Yeah, hang on until D-Day to make sure you're sure!

I wish I would have used it on my neck -- I like that "tightened", but mine may be too far gone for the Tria to help that.

I honestly don't know how or if my 11s and DEEP lip lines will improve, but if your 11s are "fine" like your lip lines (again, mine are DEEP), I think you have a far better chance of seeing noticeable improvement. I really overdid the between-the-eyes area to try to kill those 11s, but even if they're lessened somewhat, it may not be noticeable to the eye. That's why I think you might see some improvement.

Dr. Setterfield said that it takes 4 weeks minimum to see the results of increased collagen production. And wackers said when she had her SERIOUS NO KIDDING laser treatment, her skin kept getting better after that (did she say months? I don't remember).

If this doesn't do it, maybe we could get a buddy discount to get our 11s Botoxed.

Re: Tria: Week 10 / Recovery Week 2

Hi, Maren

I don't think I remember reading that the collagen production would take a minimum of 4 weeks to start showing up. I'm glad you mentioned that because I was thinking the Tria was going to go back since I'm not seeing any results yet. I guess I'm going up to the wire for returning then. I thought how mad I would be if I sent it back and then a week later something good would start happening.

Seriously. That is the next thing I am going to investigate.

I learned that from Dr. Setterfield (via Lyn and Bella Carro). That's why he recommended against Derma Rolling more frequently. When he explains the process (which Lyn and BC kindly passed along) it just makes sense. NOT that I could pass along that explanation, I'm sorry to say.

I recall seeing reviews on EDS where people were going to go beyond the 4 week rest period because their skin kept improving and they wanted to see how far it would go. :-)

I'm thinking, though, that we'll definitely know if it's doing SOMETHING in four weeks.

Re: Tria: Week 10 / Recovery Week 2

Okay, here's what I noticed this morning. My skin is TIGHTER. I had a floppy little crosshatch thing going on under my left eye. This morning I noticed it's gone and the surrounding area looked tighter, too. Then I looked at my right eye, then the rest of my face: Definitely tighter.

This is NOT to say it tightened it to the point of LIFTING it, but definitely a difference!

Other than that, my skin continues to feel like velvet (I really missed that!) and my Tria Tan is fading quickly. Looking forward to what comes next!

And where is everybody?

Re: Tria: Week 10 / Recovery Week 2

I so wish I would've gotten on the Beauty Banter and saw that there was an 8 week treatment period instead of the 12 wk 5/2 I'm following. I'll either have to send mine back after my treatment or see how you guys are doing and decide from there.

My skin is a little brown but usually goes away on my 2 day off. I have no new lines or brown spots.
