Tria Clarifying System - free radicals / oxidation?

The blue light causes the porphyrin inside the p. Acnes bacteria to generate singlet oxygen, which kills the acne.

Another radical derived from oxygen is singlet oxygen, designated as 1O2. This is an excited form of oxygen in which one of the electrons jumps to a superior orbital following absorption of energy.

The blue light is a different wavelength than that of UV rays, but I've read that hydrogen peroxide or benzoyl peroxide may age skin by causing oxidation. Is anyone worried about the blue light causing aging? I realize acne and its inflammation are also aging.

The FDA recently approved narrow-band, high-intensity Blue Light for treating acne ... this light energy is absorbed by the targeted bacteria that produces the inflammation associated with acne known as Propionobacterium Acnes, or "P. acnes". P. acnes releases porphyrins, which are naturally occurring molecules in the body. When porphyrins absorb certain wavelengths of light, free radical damage is produced which destroys the bacteria.
