Re: Treatment Oil - Best Way to Apply

Hi, I'm new to WEN but got the Fig oil in a set. There is a video on youtube about how to apply the oil. I think it depends on what size bottle you have how many droppers to use. It is recommended to tip your head back a bit so the oil won't run forward and squeeze the dropper gently so one dropper deposits a thin drizzle of oil all the way from the front of your head to the back. I think they say 3 strips or so on either side of your head. Gently massage it into your scalp with your fingertips. I think the massage is important to distribute the oil but also to increase circulation to your scalp. I combed the oil through my hair and had more hair in the comb than usual. I guess that is due to the massage, anything that was soon to go got a hand out with the scalp massage. I wrapped up my hair and left the oil in overnight. If your scalp is sensitive maybe only leave it in for a few hours the first time especially with the Tea Tree oil. Cleans out the oil. I have only used it once weekly but my hair is very soft afterwards. I just ordered the Tea Tree oil too! Can't hardly wait to try it! Hope you enjoy the oil!

I use 3-4 dropper-fuls from the 4 ounce bottle. I have course hair. I squeeze up one dropper (not to the top) and apply that to once quadrant. I do this in different quadrants until my scalp is covered.

Any excess gets rubbed through my hair.

Hi Honny.

I'm not here often and sometimes I lurk. Smile I've been meaning to ask you from what seller on eBay do you buy your oils? I understand you've had success with ordering oils from eBay, right?

Thanks,

Re: Treatment Oil - Best Way to Apply

Four droppersful for the entire scalp; 1 on the top, 1 on each side, and 1 on the back. Fill the dropper. Touch the tip to your scalp and dispense as you run the tip across your head. Make sure you lean your head back or you will have oil running down your forehead and into your eyes. Once you've dispensed all the oil, with your fingertips, go up under the hair and massage your scalp for a few minutes. If you want to treat your ends, you can use the residual oil on your fingers or apply more, it's up to you. Depending on the texture of your hair and how early in the evening you apply the oil, it might soak in well enough that you don't have to do anything special before you hit the sack. For me, I do it right before bed and my hair is fine. I don't want any oil stains on my pillowcase so I'll wrap my head in a turbie towel...which often falls off during the night, but by that time the oil has soaked in. In the morning, cleanse as usual.

Re: Treatment Oil - Best Way to Apply

Chaz shows exactly how to do it in the Fall Tuscan Pear oil video presentation. You can see it here, starting just after the 1:45 mark.

I had to use a Bitly link because the QVC forum inexplicably refused to allow me to use their URL with the product number in it. I got this error message: Reply not saved. The following words are not allowed: (Item Number)

It gave me the actual item number, but I cannot post the exact quote because it just won't let me use that item number anywhere in this message. I have NO idea why the QVC forums find a QVC item number objectionable. That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard all day. (I live in Texas and it's election season, so the bar is pretty high.)

ChinaBlue - Thanks, I needed a laugh! {#emotions_dlg.lol} I live in NC and the level of ridiculosity has gotten obscene here.

I also follow the demo you suggest, however just yesterday I had been doing yard work and wanted to rinse my hair and cleanse this AM. So, I put the oil on still my still damp scalp and hair. Sure made it much easier to move around all over scalp and ends. Just a thought (mmm). Any excess is rubbed into my cuticles and nails.

Re: Treatment Oil - Best Way to Apply

I can't think of a wrong way to apply it, but here is how I use them.

1. I keep a small one in a desk drawer and apply 2 - 4 drops to my hands and smooth thru my hair in the morning. I commute and by the time I get to work, my hair has been blown or smushed (depending on the weather). I rub the excess into my hands and cuticles

2. in the evening, I apply a droperful directly on my scalp and massage in. Then, I add 6 or so drops to my hands to work in on the ends.

3. just add a few drops to my hands/cuticles and massage in before adding hand cream

Re: Treatment Oil - Best Way to Apply

I don't count the # of droppers I use, but I pretty much do what everyone else says. I start in the center and apply it in an outward fashion working down to my ears on each side then I do the back of my head...I probably use 3 or 4 droppers by the time I'm done, but I don't really pay attention to be honest! I then massage it into my scalp and use what's left on my hands and work through my ends then brush it through.
