Re: Tranexamic Acid in Skincare - Dr. Dray

My coworker had a lot of brown spots all over her hands, went to a derm doc, he lasered them, then for a few weeks her hands looked awful, all full of dark scabs, then the scabs fell off and her hands are perfectly clear now.  I think as long as you steer clear of the sun and wear sunscreen the spots will not return

This is the one I just bought - no rhyme or reason except if 5% is good, 10% must be better . 🤷‍♀️  I figured (hope) it will work ok. 🤞

@JudyL Dr Idriss has a 3 pc system I really want to try that addresses all kinds of discoloration.

Dr Idriss Major Fade Solution System ($165 exclusive on her site) - this has the

Major Fade Hyper Serum, mask & moisturizer. You can buy this standalone too which is probably more economical. Idriss products have good reviews on her site as well as Sephora.

Other more economical tranexemic products I have shortlisted but not tried yet

  • Topicals faded serum
  • Good molecules discoloration serum
  • Numbuzin no.5 vitamin concentrated serum.

@FLGators  - The Numbuzin no.5 has been popping up a lot on videos that I've been watching.  It's gotten a thumbs up from everyone that has talked about it.  The Doctorly video I mentioned also talked about that serum.

@JudyL I watched that video yesterday and felt just like you did.  Usually, Dr. Dray will (finally) get to her opinion about something, but I never could figure out how she felt about it.  Like I've stated on here before, I have a couple of slightly smaller than a dime-sized spots--one on my left cheek and one on my left collar bone.  The TA has lightened both about 50%, but I doubt they get much lighter.  I know that if I stop doing what I'm doing, they will darken again.

I may ask my derm next year when I have my skin check how much it would cost to have the spot on my face removed.

@Ainhisg  - Whew, glad it wasn't only me who felt that way about Dr Dray's video.  I also feel that the TA has lightened my discoloration but they aren't gone.  I am happy with the lightening and will continue using it for a couple more months to see how it goes.

Dr Dray has been heavily promoting the iRestore hair growth helmet & appears in their ads. I was considering that product based on her recommendation but now I am not so sure. Same with Dr Jenny Liu, she is being sponsored by lot of companies she reviews.

Re: Tranexamic Acid in Skincare - Dr. Dray

I am on my second bottle of Farmacy Tranexamic Acid 3% and it has made a difference on the dark spots on my 77 year old skin;  I use it everyday, twice a day.  When I finish this bottle, I will try lthe Naturium because it has a higher percentage of Tranexamic Acid.  It is a watery texture which I like.  I would like to know the texture of the Naturium so I would appreciate it if someone who uses it responds to my inquiry.  Thanks.

@MeemaJoan  - I had to go get my bottle of Naturium to remind myself what it's like.  LOL  It's not watery but it's not a gel either.  To me, it's in between.  The consistency is heavier than water but not as thick as a gel.
