I had recorded Amy Morrison’s beauty show and they had the new Sofia Vergara on. From what I can gather and maybe I’m wrong but the product she was representing was initially created in Spain and she is just the spokesperson. Also what’s with the name “toty” can anyone explain why they chose such an inelegant name?

From "New Beauty©" website:

  "(Even the name is personal, as “Toty” was the nickname her brother gave her while growing up.)"

@Allthingsgirly67  She owns the company. The product/formula she was looking for was developed in Spain. This isn't a new product but IS new to HSN and only recently was sold in the US.  It's been out for years in Europe however, to sell it in the US, she had to change aspects of the product regarding the sunscreen ingredients: the US is the ONLY country to ban the specific chemicals used for decades in Europe regarding sunscreens. Many companies have to change their products when being sold here (Chantecaille and Charlotte Tillbury, for example, had to change their spf ingredients for sale to the US). It took some time for the product to produce the same results with the same spf protection but in the end, it does. I've ordered her line for awhile via her website (US version). Her European products are not allowed to be shipped to the US so had to wait until they were altered.

SV is the founder of Toty. She uses Cantabria Labs in Spain to make her products. Cantabria Labs makes a variety of other products, not just hers.

Thanks for the information. Is Europe more tolerant of certain sunscreens than the US or is it that we are more stringent.

@Allthingsgirly67

It's not that the U.S. is more strict but rather the FDA is slow to approve newer and more effective sunscreens used overseas.

I received her TS foundation and love it.  It is creamy and lightweight.  You don't even know that you have anything on.  It just blurs away any imperfections.

Too many colors to guess at.

It might be nice makeup but I would never count on any kind of cosmetic to provide me with the right amount of sun protection. For that you need to apply a large amount of makeup and it can look over-done, if you know what I mean.
