I am guilty as charged too, just a lot of stuff. I do use most of it though. I get bored of one thing and then switch to another, then back again. So it won't go to waste. The real problem area is skincare and bath/ body. That is truly out of control. I'm glad we all can take comfort knowing we're not alone! I felt like a champion resisting the recent Josie TSV. Usually I tell myself, no way, you don't need it and then give in late at night. This time I persevered and didn't get it.

I used Bareminerals original powder. I recently bought the new bareminerals concealer, used that this morning as a foundation when I went to church. This is a great product ! I'm not buying anything else for the next 6 months !

@Goodie2shoes Perhaps you should pick your favorite two foundations and dump the rest. Too much stuff.

I'm glad, yet sad - glad that I'm not the only one who has overspent on cosmetics/skincare; and, sad that we've all wasted so much money that could have gone to charities (animal charities is my thing) or used it in a more productive way.
I'm no longer looking for the foutain of youth! It doesn't exist. So, hopefully, people will like/accept me just as I am - not perfect, never will be.
I donate clothes, household goods, etc. to a nearby charity. It's a store in a stripmall. They accept all kinds of stuff in good condition - even furniture! It is staffed by volunteers and all profits from sales go to a non-denomenatonal Christian school in an abutting town. Last year I found out they gladly accept cosmetics (unused) and perfumes(can be used) 'cause people like to try them and this charity doesn't charge much. Yet it's a win-win for everyone as we can get ride of stuff we over-purchased or scents we no longer like. That's what I've gotta do today. The Pats aren't playing this year so not gonna be glued to the game. (OT I do hope KC wins though
.)
Anyways, maybe donating our good to charity may make us all feel good about the whole thing! Have a nice day!

If you don’t want to buy, don’t watch. Shopping channels sell stuff & if we don’t want to buy we need to not shop for the stuff. I work hard at not watching the beauty shows unless I need something. If I just sit and watch I can end up buying.
@willdob3 I don't purchase from Q, but in the mall, I have to walk quickly through dept. store cosmetic departments and stay clear of Sephora and ULTA unless something's on my list to replace.

@AngelPuppy1 ITA. I have the same skin issues seasonally related. I have 2 moisturizers (heavier and lighter) depending on how dry or oily my skin feels. There are times I use both...the heavier one on drier cheeks and lighter one in t zone, but I don't change lines of skincare.

I can relate, but not with Foundation. On the weekend I mainly just use concealer in spots and no foundation. During the week it's primarily Smashbox Halo for me. I've been a mineral girl for YEARS. Can't stand the thought of putting on a liquid.
My thing is always lipsticks primarily, then always in the hunt for a good multi tasking concealer, and then always love beautiufl eye shadows in my color pallette.
I have so many concealers that I'm using now, but my current favorite is Kat Von D.
Skin care and body products too... LOVE. I'm trying to limit my face products to 3 or 4 lines primarily and use up, toss or give away the others.

I don't want to keep changing things but there are times that I am so unhappy with what is going on, that I feel I have to. I would like to have one product for this, and one for that, and be done with it. I have gone to quite a few derms which are available to me and they are only helpful to a certain degree. So, I just do the best I can, which usually involves quite a bit of trial and error. I believe some of my issues are caused by health issues I have and medications.

@Goodie2shoes, I know what your mean!!!! At the mall in town there's a Sephora on one side and an ULTA on the other!!!! And, to make matters worse, it's only about ten minutes from my house and there's plenty of parking: very, very tempting!!

A few years ago I did a "make under". I had too many compacts, jars, tubes and sticks. 9 times out of 10 I always used my favorites so that help me get starated. First you need to decide what is it that you like or dislike about a problem. Any dislikes, discard. Give yourself a limit for each category (lipsticks, eye shadows, etc. ) Check purchase dates and discard older products. This wa sone of the best things I did. Now, if I'm tempted I first check out what I have decide if I want the new then I need to pitch the other product. This really works for me when it comes to Doll10 lip procuts. Hope this helps you.
