So I'm going out tonight and I am deciding what foundation to wear.  My goodness I can't decide ! I have Bareminerals liquid  and powder, It Cosmetics, Cover Girl, Philosophy, L'Oreal and I just bought a new foundation brand called Mented from HSN. (it's now available from QVC also)  I have BB and CC creams, powder, compact and liquid foundation. I actually had to pitch a Philosophy skin tint with expiration date of 11/18. I have an abundance of brushes, tubs of lipsticks, lip glosses, eye shadows etc. If I could claim all of this stuff on my taxes I would have a big refund !!  Anyone else needing to stop the beauty buys ? I'm returning the wonderblade lipstick I just got from QVC, that stuff is aweful !

Re: To Many Beauty Products !!

I have slowed down my makeup shopping immensely since I discovered I only have one face and by no means, need to overspend and end up throwing stuff out or creating more clutter when you there is no way to even use all this stuff. Lol

Re: To Many Beauty Products !!

OH MY YES!!!  For the last few yrs I kinda went over board!  I just tossed out a rather expensive Isomers VitC product that smelled bad...I had tried for so long to use it but my skin just didn't like it!  It was almost painful cause it costs too much $$! LOL

I have stopped buying and am weeding out items....I have enough mascara for a few yrs new in the box...I forgot I had it until I found it today.

No more beauty shows for me....no more YouTube video demo's ...I am just sticking with what I have until my stock pile is super low...think that's gonna be a few yrs at least.

Re: To Many Beauty Products !!

I could open up my own Sephora with my stash!! My problem is that I buy most of it on ebay, for a great rock bottom price, so it is too good a bargain to pass up, it becomes an addiction, but at least I admit it.

@Goodie2shoes

If you don’t want to buy, don’t watch. Shopping channels sell stuff & if we don’t want to buy we need to not shop for the stuff. I work hard at not watching the beauty shows unless I need something. If I just sit and watch I can end up buying.

@Goodie2shoes   It can definitely get overwhelming. My personal skincare/ beauty routine is very pared down and over the last 5 years have not purchased new brands...stayed with the ones I know work for me. You can definitely get drawers of choices in a few months of purchases.

LOL!  Sounds like you're an impulse buyer!  Maybe a makeup fan?  I do the same thing only not with make up.  My thing is hair products but lately I've found my "niche" so I'm good.  Your post tickled me!

Re: To Many Beauty Products !!

Those of us who don't use a great deal of makeup don't have this problem. Your subject line reads to us (as though we're toasting) ....to many beauty products!

I have one compact of foundation, but never use it. I do use Bye Bye Pores. I rarely use mascara these days, so I have 1 or 2 of those. I usually use blush as a shadow, so I really should chuck any eye shadows I have hanging around. A couple of liners do me just fine.

My too many category falls to lip colors. And next time I'm out in the stores, I'm going to look for another one! So, here's to my many lip colors!

@Goodie2shoesWhich foundation did you end up putting on?

Re: To Many Beauty Products !!

I get my "makeup urges" out filling up my pro supplies. I try to keep foundations limited to a few lines since I need a variety of shades in each. Eye shadow palettes, pencils, blushes, lipstick/glosses, Oh My!!! 😀

Re: To Many Beauty Products !!

I find it hard to stick to just a few items!  My skin is so changeable and one day it seems to respond favorably to a product and then a few days later --- yuck --- skin looks bad.  So, this is why I keep buying other things.  The condition of my skin is not consistent these days.  When I was younger, it always looked the same.  Not now --- so I am constantly thinking --- well, maybe this will work better, maybe this will be a better choice!
