I'm posting this on the Philosophy board since that's where the thread about Jill's comment was posted.

I saw that you took my post the opposite of what I meant, and wanted to let you know.

You were offended that I said "that depends on how funny you think a crucifixion is". I was being sarcastic, for lack of a better word. In other words, it is NOT funny. Anyone who thinks it's ok to use that topic lightly need to do a little research on what a torturous thing it is. It's just better to not use the phrase in question.

However, if a person whose faith is Christianity has another person of same faith overdoing it, thinking they have it so tough, maybe the phrase would "fit", by reminding them that "someone" had it a lot worse than they do.

In the times that we live in now, I wouldn't be making jokes about "off with her head", either. It's too much reality, lately.
