Throwback hair styling

[ Edited ]

so today I decided to set my freshly washed, wet hair on rollers to see how it would look. I used a spray styling product. Wow that method gave me a ton of bounce and volume. Took forever to dry since I wasn't under a bonnet hair dryer.  I have a chin length layered bob. But with all the dips and waves, I kind of look like a 1961 astronaut's wife  lol. Back then the hair would have been teased and heavily sprayed to cover the sectioned areas from the rollers. Anyhow I should get several days of body out of my experiment

@smoochy " I kind of look like a 1961 astronaut's wife".Too funny!

I also have a bob but it's a bit longer than chin length and is a bit more layered than I used to have it.

What I do for lift & body is use velcro rollers on dry hair and add a bit of styling spray then dry the spray on low for just a few minutes.

It is so funny that you would mention this.  Just the other day I pulled out my hot rollers and loved the outcome.  I get so tired of going in with the blow dryer and round brush only to be disappointed with the results.

Any particular size or brand of velcro rollers you like?

@haddon9   I love velcro rollers. I use quite large ones to just get volume and not too much curl. They're especially good on second or third day hair.

@rockygems123   I'll interrupt and say I use Drybar Velco rollers (Ulta, Drybar site or Amazon). They don't pull on the hair as much.

@Bonkers1   Have you tried a blowdry brush? I'm loving not having to use the brush and a separate dryer. Mine's a T3, but my first one was Revlon and was just fine for many years until it died.

@rockygems123   I bought mine years ago on Amazon so I can't say what the brand was...

Okay I just looked them up and though it doesn't say the brand the title is this:

37 Pcs Aluminum Thermal Hair Rollers Set 3 Sizes Self Grip Hair Rollers 18 Pcs Duckbill Hair Clips, Comb Hairdressing Styling Tool, Random Color for Women, Men (Pink Series, 1.1'', 1.57'', 1.97'')

I tend to use the two larger sizes.  I like that though they are velcro on the outside, inside each roller is aluminum for a better curl when you use a hair dryer which heats up for a better hold.

Also, though velco is not in the title, they are velcro on the outside and inside of each is aluminum so when you add styling spray and dry them for a few minutes with the hair dryer, they get hot because of the metal inside.
