Before I tried WEN, I used a round brush that had nylon bristles and a ceramic/tourmaline core. After a couple of weeks and learning more, I switched to a medium, boar bristle, wood core brush like Chaz recommends. Here's the problem. When I blow dry my hair with the boar bristle, I have to go over each section several more times than I do with the ceramic brush, and much more "smoke" or "steam" comes off when I do. Also, the finished product is a lot flatter and the ends are a little more brittle. (It's still WEN hair, so it still looks awesome. I'm just being nitpicky.)
When I use the ceramic one, I only have to go through each section about 2 times, and much less smoke comes off my hair (leading me to think my hair is actually heating up LESS with the ceramic one.) I'm just about to ditch the boar bristle, but so far, EVERYTHING I've heard Chaz say has been proven true by my experience. I really don't want to damage my hair, and I'm trying to grow it long. Any opinions? Does anyone else have this problem?
