Thoughts on Carol's Daughter Monoi?

Well priced set as the TS today. I'm on the fence. I have dry hair, somewhat fine but lots of it. Some breakage and thinning in front/top. I'd love to know your thoughts on the products in the set (shampoo/conditioner/oil.)

I think it's lovely. I used the oil for heat styling. Found that it was light and has the best fragrance.

This is not my favorite CD hair cleansing. But I use other CD with consistent excellent results. I love the Cupuacu and also the Black Vanilla, which I just re-ordered from her website. Zero breakage!

CD cleansing, Chaz's styling for my normal, root-treated, just-above shoulder length hair.

I do like the Monoi fragrance!

I have been using the Monoi oil split end fixer for 2 months and like it a lot. My hair is fine and mid-back.

I cant use the shampoo/cond.-I have sensitive skin easily flaring into dermatitis.

Re: Thoughts on Carol's Daughter Monoi?

I've used many of the Monoi products. The only product I still use is the anti-breakage spray. This is the best weightless detangler I've ever used. Smells wonderful and does not linger. However, the shampoo and conditioner were not my favorites. In the beginning they gave me a lot of fullness and I loved the way my hair felt. But after a few months, I felt my hair wasn't getting clean and my scalp had a lot of build-up so I stopped using it altogether. My hair and scalp just felt dirty. Another product I like to use on occasion is the Monoi hair mask. Gives your hair a lot of body and shine.

Re: Thoughts on Carol's Daughter Monoi?

I purchased Carol's Daughter Monoi shampoo and conditioners.  The fragrance is very nice, but very strong. It took a while to get use to it.  Both shampoo and conditioners are very thick, so towards the end, it was really hard to get the product out.  I had so much product left over, and could not get it out. I have to say that I did enjoy using the product. It seemed like it made my hair stronger.

Re: Thoughts on Carol's Daughter Monoi?

I tried the products @SilleeMee when my hair was longer and I wore it curly. Same conclusion. It felt like there was a layer of product left on my hair that led to buildup & my hair felt dirty too.

It may have "cones" along w/ the oil in it which added to the problem. I much prefer a lightweight spray on heat protectant.

@SilleeMee that is the reason that I have to switch up shampoos...What do you use that does not have buildup?

@StillRachB   I bought it the last time it was a special price.   Here is why I would never buy it again:

It does not make my hair feel soft and conditioned rather it leaves it feeling dry(???)

The bottles that the shampoo and conditioner come in are suppose to be squeeze bottles, but , the plastic is SO HARD... you can not sqeeze it out at all... I have to open up the bottles and pour it out into my hands( which wastes a lot.)  I even wrote a review about the lousy packaging

It does smell nice.... but that is it.

I've not tried but I don't care for items packaged together in sets like this.  I don't use that type of conditioner.  I only use spray leave-in conditioners so that product would go to waste.  I also have to be very careful about any oils I put on my hair because it's so fine.  I do spray just the ends of my hair with Tre Semme oil.
