I am so happy for you Libbey that you ...feel good not being a marketers dream.
Still I'm not quite sure, are you implying what I think you are implying with this statement?
Are you saying, other people simply not capable reaching up to your level of intellect, they don't have capacity for reasoning and understanding objectively, or else they'd certainly come up with the same conclusions, you have?
These people are just simply brainless "marketers dream", did I get right?
Oh, no. There must be something about Wen, most definitely! Just like honey attracts some organisms, the very subject of Wen also seams to attract a number of people, who "never used it and never will", or who "used to be" and all of a sudden got smart enough to "discover" a flood of other products to wash hair with and be happy.
Still somehow these folk, who for whatever reason do not use Wen, feel free to come on the Wen Board to bite people, who like and use Wen. Just like that.
Why?
p.s. Libbey, you saying you don't have enough of money, or time, or need for Wen, but I am saying - I DO have enough money, time and need for products I like for myself, and it will always be this - to each Her own.

Wow....I really didn't mean that post to cause you grief. Glad you have found a product that works for you! To me its just shampoo and just about any will do. ( never implied "brainless" your thought not mine. It was never in my heart to judge others)

I wanted to check Alterna shampoo, and found it being sold here (on Qvc) - Alterna Caviar Moisture Shampoo 8.5 ozat $32.50, Alterna Bamboo at $22.00 for 8.5 oz!
For 8.5 oz?!
Then one would also has to pick up a conditioner, doubles the cost to about $44 to $65 total for two 8.5 oz size bottles of needed hair product.
I don't know, maybe it could be argued, that less amount of product is being used with Alterna, but never-the-less, cost wise, this product is far from being cheap, or less expensive than Wen in my opinion.
I am tired right now, please correct me, as I may be wrong in all my calculations, but 8.5 oz Alterna at $22 - $32.50 for shampoo alone (doubled for S/C) to $44 - $65.00 vs. 32 oz Wen C/C for $49.50 - $52.74, which makes Wen more attractive product cost wise.
Glad to see someone doing their math! You are correct about the price for the individual products. I had recommended A258029 which was a TSV. It comes with 17 oz of shampoo, 17 oz. of conditioner and 4.2 oz of volumizing spray for $54.98. The volumizer (which is wonderful!) sells for $24, so that would make the 17 oz shampoo or conditioner $15.50 each. Pretty good deal.
The Wen comes out to $1.55/oz. The Alterna $0.91/oz, plus you use about 1/4 as much of the Alterna.
I have had inconsistent results with Wen, but am very pleased with the Alterna. Just a suggestion.

Try using DEVA Curl or DEVA CARE. Also, there is a wonderful book called Curly Girl. There is quite a lot of information on the internet that is very helpful. You can purchase this at many places including Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom and at Amazon.

If you were getting good results with Pantene and haven't seen dramatic improvement with WEN......why in the world would you keep paying the astronomical WEN prices? Just doesn't make sense. If affordable stuff makes your hair look good, use it and save some money!

Totally agree. If Pantene worked before, why start using Wen? I switched to Wen because I have color treated hair; Wen saves me money. I doubt I would have switched to Wen if it wasn't for the fact that it was developed for color treated hair.

I used WEN for about 5 years and loved it, until recently. I just can't seem to get my hair to look as good as it did in the beginning, plus I've noticed some breakage. Maybe too much protein, who knows? I went back to Pureology products and I am please with the results. Pureology is definitely not cheaper though at almost $60 for a small bottle of shampoo and conditioner. I still have some WEN and will probably rotate it in to use it up. I never experienced hair loss in the 5 years I used WEN.

Another vote for Suave Professionals. I've been using Aveda and Wen for a long time, but am reaching more and more for the SP. Using Wen as a conditioner every other time. SP is also amazingly cheap.

I've tried Alterna with good results. I don't like it as much as WEN but if I run out of WEN or don't use it for some reason my go to is Alterna. I use the caviar line.
In regards to hair falling out ~ it may be hormones. I was worried myself so I tracked it and I find that I lose the most hair the first week after my period. It gets less and less after that. I experimented using WEN and other shampoo just to make sure. I can 100% say WEN does not cause MY hair to fall out.
