These items were in a Clinique email

[ Edited ]

I haven't worn eye shadow since 1980, but if I did I though these colors were so pretty and soft.  The lipstick is pretty and I would wear that!

But yikes $48 for eye shadow???  It's pigmented dust - seriously??

Beautiful palette!  I can see myself wearing those colors.

Those are nice soft colors.

@bmorechick  I can tell that you must not buy eyeshadow Emojibecause $48 sounds like a lot but by today's MSRP for prestige brand eyeshadow palettes, it's mid-range. Several well-known brands are in the $59-$70 range and others even more. Tom Ford eyeshadow palettes are a whopping $90.

@bmorechick   Clinique is maybe a step up from drugstore as far as department store/Sephora or Ulta prices.

If it's been that long since you've purchased eyeshadow or other makeup, you did miss the price increases. There are many drugstore palettes by Milani, NYX that are much less epensive than the Clinique palette you posted. If in the market, you may want to check those.

No eyeshadow is not pigmented dust. There are binders, oils, silica in shimmer shades. Talc and mica also give the shadow covering power. Titanium Dioxide give the shadow its opaque quality. Then don't forget the cost of packaging, product development, advertising, etc.

I like those neutral shades and can understand if you feel it's expensive given it's been so long purchasing a palette.

BTW. all cosmetics and skincare as well as almost all goods and services have had great price increases.

@bmorechick ~ Funny, I rarely wear eyeshadow yet I have numerous palettes because I watched tutorials on YouTube that looked so nice! I had the intention of using them since I liked the colors but it always looked like I had too much eye makeup on. I tend to stick with eyeliner and mascara. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That is very expensive for any brand.  Clinique is one of my favorite brands for eyeshadow.  I would have to think about spending $50 for this one though.

If you sign up on their website, you will be notified of their many sales. They have 30% off sales many times during the year as well as other promotions. That's when I stock up as I wear many Clinicians products.

Yes I agree!  I wore a basic soft pink when I worked, but now?  Absolutely won't be paying that.  And since I'm a one-shade wonder, won't ever need to.

The price seems about standard.  But I would never pay anything for a large assortment like that.  Guarantee to be a lot of waste.

Keep looking and maybe order the lippie on its own.

I could never wear the Black Honey lipstick - it never looked good on me.  I'm glad they brought the Pink Honey back.
