The least expensive with the best results

I've got a shelf full of Wen, Purelogy, Biolage, Alterna and several other expensive bottles of shampoo and conditioner. I don't skimp when it comes to beauty products and I love to try new things, which I do a lot. But my hair was looking flat and dull. I bought the Suave Sea Mineral Infusion Moisturizing Body shampoo and conditioner on a whim. I have used it for every cleanse for the last 2 weeks and can't believe how consistently good my hair looks. It's shiny and soft and FULL of volume. I still use my Wen styling products but in terms of cleansing and conditioning, I'm thrilled at my $6 find. What are your bargain beauty faves???

Are you using Suave Sea Mineral Infusion Moisturizing Body shampoo and conditioner on your hair?

I never thought to use body shampoo on my hair.  Or, am I reading that wrong.

Re: The least expensive with the best results

It's wonderful when you find something that works great for less!

My "bargain" faves are CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara, Revlon CC cream, and Maybelline Shine Free Loose powder...all work as well for me as any more expensive brand I've tried.

I also use CoverGirl lipstains under Burt's Bees tinted lip balms in place of lipstick most of the time. The lip balms are sheer color, so they don't show if they bleed a bit which means I don't need lipliner (which I consider a major pain). I'm gonna have to find a new lipstain, though, as I can't find the CoverGirl anymore.

@Sunshine Kate I think that means it gives your hair more "body".

Vermint, I guess you're right.  I read it wrong, I'm still not awake.

Sunshine, I read that shampoo name and thought it strange, too, but if you look at Suave's site, the name is meant to be read as a product that adds moisture and body/volume to the hair.  It's not for the body; it's for the head!  I agree ... very oddly written name!

I really like Maybelline's Fit Me Foundation Stick.  It's a lightweight hint of color, but it's creamy gel texture stays with you for long wear.  I also like Maybelline's Color Sensational Lipstick. My favorite shades are both brown tones: Crazy for Coffee, and Touchable Taupe (from The Buffs collection).

Re: The least expensive with the best results

Can I say that of all the so called deep hydrating moisturizers out there--the best for me is good, ole fashioned Vaseline!!! I swear that it does the best job on my dry feet and elbows, hands, than ANYTHING on the market. I had a stubborn patch  of rough, dry, alligator type skin on the side of my leg as a result of chemo and NOTHING would even touch it. I tried vaseline and after just a few days, that patch was gone. Now I don't use it on my face but do on chapped lips from time to time.

Trader Joe's Jojoba Oil (4oz for $8) -- it's private packaging of the Desert Essense brand with the TJ label stuck on it.

Jojoba oil is frequently touted as one of the expensive wonderful ingredients in beauty care products. It's not cheap, but next to beauty creams it's a bargain.

In the winter I will sometimes put it on my face if it gets a bit dry.

Before bedtime, I'll also put it on my feet or hands if the skin is getting dry and then I'll seal it in with a layer of shea butter. It's much less oily than Vaseline (which is petrolium based) and I can go to bed without having to put on socks in order to avoid getting oil on the sheets.

I buy the Shea butter in tins (maybe from African Moisture?) for about a third of the price that L'Occitaine charges.

Hello, RachB. Smiley Happy

Let's see......I got Nick Chavez Traditions Yucca Root Shampoo and Condtioner as a set. Separately, the shampoo is $20 and the conditioner is $22. So I think that was a pretty good deal. It gives my hair the moisture it needs.
