The best cuticle cream I have ever used is . . .

Elemis Marine Cream.  You know that stuff you put on your face once or twice a day?  I absent-mindedly rubbed some on my cuticles after I dipped out a bit too much one night.  So the next day I happened to glance at my hands on our way to grocery shop. Great looking cuticles.  My hands usually look dry, especially the cuticles.  For the past two weeks I deliberately used a tiny bit every night, then skipped two nights.  Back to the dry cracked cuticles.  I will use this conscientiously from now on.  It is an expensive item for me, but this tiny amount won't use up that much.

@depglass

I have a question about cuticles if you don't mind.  Is dry skin the sole or largest reason behind cuticles that need attention?  I have never given them the time of day.  I can't even see them.  Do I even have cuticles? lol

I don't have dry skin and I put lotion or whipped oil on them at daily.  Maybe more importantly?? is that everything I put on my face goes on my hands BUT that's only been the case for the last 2.5 years.  Yep, looking right now (with readers on) they are invisible.

@monicakm My cuticles aren't dry, but I do have skin that grows down around the edges of my nails.

I have to keep that skin pushed back or it looks awful.

butter London Melt Away Cuticle Exfoliator is amazing.

I got a set off of Good Morning America Steals & Deals that came with a glass "orange stick" to push back the cuticles.

It really does melt them away.

I do my own mani/pedis and learned never to cut/trim cuticles. If they're pushed back with corner of towel when washing hands, eventually they stop growing onto the nail bed. Whatever's left will flake off....at least on my nails. I just wear a clear nail hardner.

O'Keefe's makes a very budget friendly cuticle cream that works like crazy! I got mine at Wal-Mart.

Best one I have tried is Burt's Bees cuticle cream.  I rub a cuticle cream on daily to keep my nails looking pretty.  My hands have become drier with age and I'm OCD about nice looking hands and nails (feet too)!!

Re: The best cuticle cream I have ever used is . . .

Monicakm, I envy you and I bet a lot of others do also.  I have low thyroid and take meds and they have told me that's part of the reason my skin is so dry.  The other is I live in a winter time cold area.  Oh, one more.  I'm pretty rough on my hands, doing things I should be wearing gloves for but don't.  My mother had beautiful nails and I still remember her using an orange wood stick, then applying polish.  I'm allergic to polish, it dries my nails to cracking stage. So I use TIPS for that, but it doesn't help the cuticles.

For me, any oil is great, or, what I use on my hands (on cleaning day) is the glycolic Alpha lotion. I don't use lotion on my hands every day.

But that Bloomeffects moisturizer! Just wonderful on my cuticles.
